It seems to be really needed this spring more than any other. I have never seen som much trash on the ground in Ottawa was this year. I've been picking up lots of it, but I am not sure why this year is so bad.

Well an MOU is a step in the process that is worth noting and all, but it is not generally an indication that the transfer is complete.

An MOU is a good start, but as I understand it that is the beginning of the process, not the end of it.

It is about time. That move is certainly taking a while to happen!

All true, but also he did come though for us in the crunch at Queenston Heights.

Well lets see what happens. Even if they accept this offer I expect them to be obstructionist to all the mandated and planned changes.

Well the govt has said that they must get back to not requiring bailouts and they have a plan to do that, but I think a lot hangs on how then union behaves. For instance they are now voting on that last offer from six month ago. If they strike again it will drive out even more customers.

No, I have to admit I have not. Feel free to post photos, though!

Well that is good at least, even if you didn't get any chicken.

Hopefully it can be brought back to being customer-funded.

14 hours ago 1 0 1 0

Well I said that because so far they have received over $2B in bailouts from tax money.

Yep our leaves do not appear until early May in Ottawa!

"In theory..."

Yeah they kept losing important bill payments and such that I had to switch everything on-line, they are just not reliable.

Anyway any debate is moot. Their govt mandate is to be self-funded from revenues and they have a plan to reach that over the next few years. It is happening now.

That is all you can do!

Lots of Canadians don't use Canada Post, like me for instance. They just lost so much of my mail over the years that I found better ways of doing it. I know many people who have done that, so it is nothing like essential. If people want to use them great, but I should not be paying for it.

The reason it is cheaper is that they are losing enormous amounts of money which have to be made up from taxes. We could subsidize like that indefinitely, but then we would have to either increase taxes or cut other government services, like health care to cover the costs.
