Covid is still rampant.
It can lead to myriad illnesses & disabilities including ME, POTS, MCAS etc.
There is cardiac & neurological damage.
There is no cure.
There is a simple preventative measure that should be recommended & freely available to the public.
K/N95s save lives.

Right wing? I work in Boston and did my med school in NYC - we're all liberal or independent and not a single healthcare worker that I know of is masking. Heck, even the interventional pulmonologist who does our EBUS procedures makes fun of masking.
I mean just use raw numbers and sampling.
Go about your day and count masked vs unmasked faces and you'll see it. When you see 4 with masks and you see 784 without masks, that is 'nobody' in a fair generalization.

I am disappointed in so many people, but especially doctors who make fun of masking

There's a hauntingly beautiful irony in these morons thinking that carefully crafted American hegemony was actually weak and woke, and they would be the ones who would do Power and Dominance properly, and immediately bringing everything crashing down

Seems very silly that the causes of the global recession include tariffs, growing corporate adoption of AI tools, mass layoffs, data center electricity use, and now geopolitical conflicts costing $1 billion/day. All of these actions are due to the US government or by US companies.

One way chronic illnesses like Long Covid and ME/CFS, which are global issues, are swept under the rug is by always presenting them as local issues, even though the same issues are identical everywhere.

You can't unsee it once you notice it. It's one of many ways it's trivialized.

I love the feeling of leaving a review for a great book and seeing its average rating tick up. Here's to justice, little book.

How much more evidence do we need? The ultra-rich and the governments supporting them will destroy everything for the sake of profit, power and pride. Nothing is precious to them - not human life, not the living world - except their own wealth and status. Our survival depends on resisting them.

The South ending Reconstruction and plunging their populations into a backward looking culture and economy until it was forced to modernize by the Civil Rights movement is imo a very clean parallel.

A report out today said that Russia's war on Ukraine has emitted over 400 million metric tons of CO2, which is roughly equivalent to all diesel engines on earth running nonstop for a year.

Multiple reports this week suggest the carbon emissions of our war on Iran will be significantly higher.

Grown ass police chief without identification chokes a child. ACAB

“It’s been reported to us that the adult seen holding a student in a chokehold was our chief of police,” she said. The Bucks County Courier Times, in an article published Friday, identified the man in the brown jacket as Quakertown Police Chief Scott McElree.
“Parents are asking plainly, ‘Was this him? Why was he not in proper uniform, and why was that level of force used on a student?’” Foster said. “We also have serious questions about de-escalation. Why was the first instinct to come barreling in instead of slowing down the situation and protecting our children?”

This is Chief of Police Scott McIlree using a chokehold on a child. He was in street clothes with no identification as an officer.

‘Don’t go to the US – not with Trump in charge’: the UK tourist with a valid visa detained by ICE for six weeks Karen Newton was in America on the trip of a lifetime when she was shackled, transported and held for weeks on end. With tourism to the US under increasing strain, she says, ‘If it can happen to me, i...

Imagine taking a vacation abroad & being disappeared to a jail for 40+ days for no reason.

That’s what this Admin is doing to foreign tourists. It's outrageous & hurting our businesses.

When will other nations start holding the Admin accountable for mistreating their citizens?

This is the kind of thing a rich CEO says at the beginning of a science fiction movie to establish for the audience that he is a sociopath and the villain.

Street transformation from car space to street willed with people including kids

Street transformation from car space to street willed with people including kids

It’s not just about what you remove (cars, noise, dirty air). It’s about what you add (people walking, a lot of bike parking, trees, outdoor dining, and room for kids to play safely). Amsterdam: 1986 and today.

Streets for people.

Some stunning takeaways from the Les Wexner Epstein deposition today:
-He claims the DOJ & FBI never contacted him, even though a co-conspirator
-He claims he was not close to Epstein even though Epstein‘s wealth was built on his relationship
-Not a single Republican showed up for the deposition.

JUST IN: Judge Provinzino in Minnesota has held a Justice Department attorney in civil contempt for violations of her order requiring the return of a released ICE detainee’s ID documents. He must pay $500 a day until the documents are returned.

Bovino doesn't just go home. Kristi Noem doesn't get to ride off into the sunset with Corey Lewandowski on her horse. Stephen Miller doesn't get to order federal agencies to break the law and then move over to Fox News. Investigate, prosecute, punish. No one is above the law.

A lot of Dems are going to take Bovino and Noem being fired as the finish line, and it's very important to make it clear to them that it is a starting line

From this moment forward (and before, but clearly now):

-If you work for ICE.
-If you vote for money for ICE.

You are complicit. This is the gestapo. You're on the wrong side. You can't pretend not to know.

"Just stay cool and don't make trouble until the midterms" is not going to cut it as an opposition response to a murderous regime whose masked thugs are killing people in the streets and then attempting to round up witnesses and destroy evidence.

I’m so sick of people throwing their hands up and saying abolishing ICE isn’t possible right now. Abolishing ICE is extremely popular and calls to do so will only continue to grow, meanwhile conservatives manage to do incredibly unpopular things all the time because nobody stops them

2 months ago 4387 1011 50 21

ICE agents are America's failures, basically indistinguishable from lazy school shooters, losers who want to play Call of Duty on our streets against people who can't fight back. They have unlimited ammo and toss tear gas like they're pressing L1. They have to be defunded and jailed. All of them.

2 months ago 11591 3367 227 106

Dems have to vote this down

this might not be the fight you want but this is the fight you have, they’re killing people in the streets and smearing the victims, they are totally out of control

meet the moment because it is coming to meet you whether you like it or not

DOJ lies.
DHS lies.
ICE lies.

That has been established. Do not repeat their claims as fact. Their claims are arguments or, often, misleading propaganda — when not outright lies.

They are seeking to make a case for their lawlessness (and to please Trump), not seeking to inform.
