also a good time to say i reduced her association to dynamis due to it limiting my creative ability with her. so she can embody many things, but associate her more to life itself.

there's sort of something i'm playing at with her connecting to azem symbolically (in my universe) while never having been azem but perhaps playing a role in it symbolically. but the stars are ancient, predating humanity itself. so i'm like, tentatively deciding on things as the story progresses.

think about it like this, she's more than just stars and celestial accents. the light of the stars create life when conditions are right. the sun brings life. that's her! life. and she wanted to live among it. it's just she didn't know her origin until endwalker.

it's kind of hard for me to explain in limited words but she's as fundamental as something like the lifestream itself. runa is runa, but her creation is because that aspect of the universe flowed into the world and wanted to live. she was born to love and live and feel everything within it.

i flipped flopped between having runa have an ancient self but i ultimately decided on something that coalesced into a mortal form. when she was worshiped in the past it wasn't as an entity but as a fundamental part of the universe (see: anima mundi) where energy formed and manifested to life.

also while not being wol, runa is absolutely someone you'd want on your team as her divinity isn't tied up between any faction or religion, rather the light in the void of space. and her prophetic dreams might come in handy. (she's wrapped within the irl mythological symbolism of the titan asteria)

so while she's not a wol and i can see her traveling era close with 8.0 and actually get involved with like "hey so this is what i found in my travels and it's dire and i'm not an ascian with other motives, i want to help." i could even drop her into lumita's story if 8.0 goes that way.

tl;dr of her plot is she felt something off since the final days ended like...a lingering sense of dread/calm before the storm when everyone was celebrating. using what reserves she had from her old divinity she travels w/ ahe to find where these pockets are more apparent, figure out what happened.

it's so interesting how they're now REALLY delving into the "something fucky is going on with the star" because it has been a narrative cloud over the plot since 6.1. and the fact i based runa's post-endw plot entirely on figuring this out which can oddly intertwine her with the 7.5-8.0 msq events.

an amendment is she’s more similar to paladin era zero, she carries a sense of hope through fighting for a better future but their general aura is Similar especially in how they see value in life and existing within it

really like zero in the sense she’s probably the most similar xiv npc to aetherhis in personality (aetherhis is just a twinge more talkative and not butch) but they’d get along a lot in their quiet compassion for others.

there is a beauty in it, you see. I can imagine anything in the void. there are conversations happening behind your wildest dreams in the abyss. what prophecies and heresies do you hear in your chasm?

i’ve seen the consensus be 1/2 are wuxia and 3 is xianxia and dragon warrior stuff leans more xianxia! but that’s just from my observation 🙂‍↕️
