Screenshot of the episode of Very Important People with Caitlin Riley as Stop. Vic Michaelis is standing by the door with the caption: - I- I think that you voted for a bad person.
Caitlin Riley as stop on Very Important People with the caption: - His middle name is Jessica, how bad can he be?
Conversation with the average American voter in 2024
Can confirm from PERSONAL experience.

Glowing review for Ativan. I wish it made me less sleepy, but it makes my heart and brain stop trying to kill me and doesn't effect my boner so ๐โโ๏ธ
Just look at DS9's 'Far Beyond The Stars' and 'Past Tense'.
I also think production was very different. Modern productions are so polished, SO cinematic, they just feel more serious - even when they're lighthearted.
With respect, as I think we're both around the same age, I imagine we just weren't as tuned in to the political issues of the 90s - because we were children.
And with the passing of time, political references become less prescient, and thereby less obvious to the modern viewer.
Not a Southwest commercial featuring a two year old who beat childhood cancer making me cry in this Hyundai Service Department. ๐ญ
Tim Curry in FernGully is why I am gay and also recycle.
How do you define that? What would that look like?
So much of Academy is thinly veiled "growing up in 21st C America."
Burn isolation = COVID, pirate attacks = school shootings, the clashes & growth of leaving home for the first time & being able to grow into yourself. Underrated.
US kids could use more mentors in their lives & fewer politicians.
I feel like BIG genre fandoms just cannot cope when a particular show is made for a different demographic, explores a different style, or just does things differently.
I, personally, don't want to see the same thing over and over again. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ

THE CANDLE GHOST. Like 9/11, I'll never forget that tragedy. ๐คฃ
Hey, since you're all here!
When you're done leaving your Star Trek: Star Fleet Academy hot-takes, go check out our woodworking video! ๐
SAME. ๐ฅฒ
I never could've predicted that a luke-warm Star Trek take would bring such d i s c o u r s e to my feed, but here we are.
Not a disparaging btw! The discourse has been cordial and respectful. I'm just surprised. ๐
Agree to disagree.
TNGs first two seasons were kinda trash. TOS has MANY questionable episodes and was nearly cancelled, often.
DS9 only has its reevaluation recently and was widely disliked upon its release.
Y'all are allowed to be critical but, by the gods, have some perspective.
Disregarding the anti-woke brigade, because their opinions are not even worth engaging with, I think a lot of the most critical detractors for this season hold it to an impossibly high standard, filtered through a nostalgic lens.
Andor also had a film conclusion it was building towards. With established characters.
I think they stumbled a bit with world building and setting up complex backgrounds for an ensemble cast of new players.
But I think there were moments of visual storytelling that shined through.
