bsky needs to steal tumblr's tagging, and instead of the carousel thing, they need to let use choose our own image layout. (like tumblr)

I remember looking into making my own feed for art posts I personally like, got confused immediately, and gave up. No idea if its better now.
And yeahhh. I personally forget to put hashtags all the time. x_x I really need to remember to do that.
Yeahhhh that's definitely the downside of tags as opposed to like... Folders. Tumblr would need some sort of fast tagging/folder system to remove the tedium.

Bsky definitely severely lacks in tools for fandom sharing.
On tumblr you could just make a side blog if you wanted a place where you posted curated stuff. Here you need to make a new account. So it's no surprise it's less common.

Gallery sites trying to copy DA tend to fall flat because they don't have anything to offer to non-artists. Which poses and interesting problem to solve...
Tumblr's tagging system is definitely a huge plus for its reach-ability! I still use tumblr and find new artists all the time perusing various fandom tags.
DeviantArt is not really a social media the way we think of social media today, but it definitely had the strongest community building, solid art viewing, and with the introduction of groups, pretty solid reach. I follow artists today I found on DA.
To bad the owners destroyed it...
I feel like tumblr was the most okay-ish at audience reaching. Something about it's post layout made it easier to notice something on the dash you liked.
Still was not GREAT though.
I do follow a lot of artists, and try to share their work when I see a piece I love. So there is that.
I feel like the argument for social media is that it helps independent creators find their audience? but tbh idek know if it's actually good at that.
Like, thinking of webcomics I actively read, they were either recommended by friends, or on the front page of ComicFury and had an intriguing icon.
