I’m curious if this is the same book about a Pride parade that our superintendent removed from our district libraries despite the reconsideration committee voting to keep it on the library shelves.
This gift made it a lot easier to make these connections!
I can’t wait to start the huge job of getting these books ready to put into the hands of our students!!
Today I received the books that our library received from the SCBWI: Impact and Legacy Fund- All Readers Welcome Grant. These books represent our students’ ethnicities, languages, religions, family experiences, and identities. Thank you @scbwi.bsky.social and @bookelicious.bsky.social!
I have used the Developing Digital Detective lessons with my 4th and 5th grade media classes for 4 years now. Last week I met with an adult education teacher in our district who is interested in teaching the lessons to his adult learners. He is really excited to adapt the lessons for his learners.
I just finished reading Finally Heard last night and just purchased it with grant money I was awarded through SCBWI. I am looking forward to sharing it with my students in our media lessons.
You are posting misleading information. This photo is not from this weekend. It’s a photo of the Black Lives Matter march in 2020 after George Floyd’s murder. From a simple Google search it appears this first was published on multiple news sites in June 2020.
I’m a media specialist on the district. Here’s a story from today. www.postbulletin.com/news/local/r...
Thank you to @openbooks501c3.bsky.social for their generous donation of LGBTQ+ affirming books for every elementary school in our district!
Your husband’s aunt volunteers at the school in Minnesota where I am the media specialist. She loaned me her copy of Free Throws, Friendship, and Other Things We Fouled Up last year so I could read it. It is such a good book! I bought a copy for the K-8 school I was also teaching at.
That might have been me! I especially like the Book Break!
