#VampireCrawlers proves to be addicting as I expected it would be from playing its demo. It's just so damn fun. 2 hours in, there are ZERO cons so far.

I locked in so hard during this one run that I forgot the outside world existed for a bit. I managed to pull some great moves too.

The title screen of Vampire Crawlers. It shows a vampire holding up a glass of red liquid that may or may not be blood. Maybe it's Kool-Aid? Also, despite the vampire being shown in the title screen, there are no actual vampires in the game (same with Vampire Survivors before the Castlevania expansion)

Now starting Vampire Crawlers, which I might find even more addicting than Vampire Survivors because turn-based battles and dungeon crawling!

This could be the end for me, you, ALL OF US! Will it be the most addicting game of the year? Let's find out!

It’s a side scrolling narrative adventure with beat em up combat and some platforming. Not the other way around Meaning: more adventure than action. Don’t expect 90% action and “Arkham-like combat” (phrase I keep hearing over and over when people talk about it). It’s more like 60/40 side scrolling exploration to combat & platforming Collectibles, lore documents, no voice acting - if you like reading to immerse yourself in a world, it’s a great time. If you want something punchier and more fast paced, a lot of it will miss for you To me, it’s all extremely fucking cool. Gameplay only has so many tricks up its sleeve, but if the vibes click for you, then the ride is well worth it if you’re in the mood for this kind of adventure

It evolves the HD2D style via camera/cinematography using perspective and foreground on top of pixel style/lighting In cinematic moments, objects will fly at the screen or the background vs foreground blurs, creating depth in an otherwise 2D scene I’m here to tell you. It never stops being fucking gorgeous
