on that note, i wanna shout my praises for the "no hugging, no learning" philosophy of the UPN script because what's going on in Cooper's is very much hugging and very much learning. not that it's a bad thing, but you get a taste of that cynicism at the bittersweet end with mort becoming a dead NEET
what I will say about the Cooper script is that it starts and it ends. Mort as a series has been an ouroboros of storytelling. nothing earth-shattering can happen, and if so, a resolution must happen by any means necessary: zombies are in the fucking streets. just plow em into a garbage truck ig
Cooper's Mort has this flippant attitude in his characterization that I really dig. I was in newspaper in high school so call it dataset poisoning, but I much prefer the "unable to learn anything from anything" Mort of the comic and the UPN script. a lot more comedic potential than heart for me
re: having read the Cooper draft and the UPN pilot script, I can safely say that I am still correct in my blind judgement
