Caleb Shomo of Beartooth is fucking awesome btw
their new song was so cathartic as someone that started their journey into transition recently. seeing caleb so much more comfortable in his own skin and femininity genuinely made me cry i love him
rant over for now. excited for s4!
Also, I'm not saying people shouldn't want Re:Zero to have a good adaptation, of course I want that! But you have to be realistic about animation studio working conditions, with a pay that rivals the lint and paper clip in my pants pocket. 95% of you have no idea what goes into making an anime.
So, anime-only's: you're going to be in for a REAL good time this season. For the doomposting webnovel readers, and i mean this in the kindest way possible: please shut the fuck up. You have genuinely ruined discourse around this show and have forgotten what made it so special in the first place.
Too many people became novel readers after season 2 and decided that 1. their opinion is law and 2. if every single line uttered by the characters is not adapted then the episode sucks horsecock. These people frustrate me to hell and back and will NEVER be fucking happy.
I'm glad that ever since the 2nd trailer for s4/arc 6, people have been in a more positive mood about it lately and are very hyped for what's to come (because it was a fucking INCREDIBLE arc in the novels), but I can't say I'm interested in episode discourse this time around unfortunately.
Sure, there were a lot of cuts in seasons 1 and 2 that I am still upset about that I hope will be reincorporated at some point down the line, and season 3 didn't have as *many* moments of sheer awe that the first 2 left me with, but this nitpicking-to-death is going to be the end of this community.
season 1, and it has consistently been an incredible ride. It's a genuinely impactful piece of art that has changed my life in so many positive ways, and I feel like so many people misunderatand the core themes and appeal of what this story is meant to be about.
Re:Zero has had a PLETHORA of incredible moments for me in EVERY season, and flows together fantastically as a TV-show. It's one of the few that have me itching for the next episode everytime I finish one, with a painful but reflective weekly experience. I've been watching since the airing of
Sure, we can talk all day about what the anime adaptation did great (The Outside of Madness) and what it didn't do so great (Theresia Van Astrea). That doesn't mean that it's a POS adaptation and the director should be fired just because you're not getting a JJK or Frieren-level adaptation.
I think my biggest problem with the deep Re:Zero fandom is that because the anime adaptation cuts certain things out of the novels, it's inherently a "terrible adaptation of the source material". This has poisoned discourse around the show for me personally, and I think for a lot of others, too. 🧵
it feels like they all have the same exact thumbnail and title structure as well. i've become numb to the melodramatic titles of these videos, they're like the shitty pop-culture magazines u see in the checkout at grocery stores istg
i just want good edu-tainment, man 😓
you're awesome for this ty

Oof, I didn't make the Curator's Favorites this year. That one stings a bit, admittedly.
Even so, I'm still proud of the stuff I made this year, despite my inability to stand out from the crowd. Here's my personal favorites from 2025 that I think you should check out!
