we are going to win but we are 100% in the "worse before it gets better" stage

🚨"This is nuts! What the f*ck is going on, this is insane! ICE is just trying to scare people; they tell you it's only immigrants—it's f*cking anybody!" -furious Minneapolis resident tells our @zdroberts.bsky.social after ICE shot a man in the leg tonight. LIVE NOW ⬇️
@prisonculture.bsky.social and I have been encouraging people to read chapter six of our book, Let This Radicalize You, which deals with the question of "violence" in social movements. We have decided to share the chapter publicly, to offer some context and grounding for the current conversation.

Forget Canada — I don't think I've ever seen a poll shift this dramatic in *any* modern democracy. One of the most remarkable elections of my lifetime.
Stop the count!
Politician calls for transgender Americans to be offered asylum in Norway: ‘We have to act’

Trudeau: "They're talking about working positively with Russia, appeasing Vladimir Putin- a lying, murderous, dictator. Make that make sense. Canadians are reasonable and we are polite. But we will not back down from a fight...Canada will be implementing 25% tariffs against $155b of American goods."

I was NOT prepared for this book, despite all the warnings of how prophetic it is. I've read that a war between the US & Canada is part of the story as well, which seems especially wild considering how much we (Canadians) have been uniting in the face of US threats recently.
From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.

Danielle calling Carolyn “Forrest Gump” was pretty disgusting. They’d better get her next. #TheTraitors
Well yeah lmao.. what did they expect
When the fuck are Canadian leaders going to start treating the American government like an enemy? They've declared themselves as such. We are not safe and they have a responsibility to do something about it.
I’m seeing a lot of soft takes from industry mutuals at the moment that we shouldn’t be so hard on those who use generative AI because it’s becoming harder and harder to resist.
Wrong. Betraying your ethics (and your peers) because ‘everyone else is doing it’ does not suddenly make it acceptable.
can we talk about how these covers (and the authors chosen to write the introductions in these editions) are a crime booktok will need to pay for..???
Fact: Canadians are facing many crises - housing, affordability, food insecurity, climate & more
Fact: Cons policies & voting record show they won’t take action/will make things worse.

Can't imagine the youth will be too bummed about their high energy video app being banned when they can just log onto blue sky and read sentences written by elder millennials
People might bring up Vincent van Gogh as an example of a painter who did great work in spite of, or because of, his suffering. I like to think that van Gogh would have been even more prolific and even greater if he wasn't so restricted by the things tormenting him. I don't think it was pain that made him so great, I think painting brought him whatever happiness he had. —David Lynch

I want to remind everyone that your local library is both physical AND digital.
