This came up on the other site but if anyone needs the "If Robert Jordan Wrote About Curtains" meme base photo, here it is

That’s ok. They are combining some people for simplicity. So liandrin is getting way more developed probably because they’re gonna give her some later villians plot lines too.

At first - now that she’s been revealed in the show - the red she wears is much darker and they gave her black cloak!😂

CoT- yes, cut it all!

They dressed them in their colours to help.

I’ve reread the series 7 times ( on dragon reborn for 8 th time) and I have reread even CoT each time. My completionist nature makes me feel like a failure if I even skim!

I resent that! Winters Heart is a book I love from start to finish! I will not hear this slander!😤😉

That scene always makes me cry. I love it so much. My absolute favourite scene of the season.😢

😂 I agree but I also keep rereading it! Someone stop me!😆

The latter is a great representation of each writers' ethos. For both, trying to end the cycle of violence by force is a sign of megalomania. But for Jordan, it's a metaphysical/emotional journey about the nature of evil. And for Martin, it's a military campaign revealing the foibles of human nature

No me neither. It was just shocking.

Horse dust is sad though. 🥺😉

Nope - you’ve been found!😁

Hi there! This the first I’m seeing you!

😂 Don’t give up - you’re more than half way through. The next one is my personal favourite but your mileage may vary. For book 10, the real slog, look up chapter summaries and just read the chapters where something interesting happens. After that things pick up again and it’s worth it.

I take it you’re in the slog right now? How far in are you?

Excellent point!

Let’s talk about too much sleeping powder… if I as a damane thought my suldam needed rest and she asked me to prepare her kaf, could I slip in too much powder so she sleeps forever?

As a book reader I have so many arguments to this but they haven’t happened yet in the show. How about I just guarantee that everyone is gonna suffer. The series as a whole has 3 major low points and this is the first. The other two happen to non-POC if that helps.

2 years ago 2 0 0 0

I understand that it looks that way right now for this part. It won’t always though. The fact that there are more POC main characters means that statistically more of them are gonna be suffering at any one time. I hope you can trust the story they want to tell.

choices matter to the story being told. Mat isn’t offered any options and is stuck and rand is being manipulated between two ladies. Even in that horrible situation, Egwene as a character has more narrative weight than either guy. 2/2

2 years ago 2 0 0 0

That’s character development. The series has switched gender dynamics a bit so at this point the ladies are ahead of the guys in having their naïveté stripped from them. They also have more of their decisions driving the story. Even Egwene, in her current predicament has more of her choices 1/2

Keep going - it gets better.

Three of the main hero’s in this story are POC and no hero goes through a hero’s journey without difficulty. Their hardships have nothing to do with their skin color though.

2 years ago 1 0 1 0

It’s unrelated to skin color and the story frames it as evil on the whole, not just one bad thing for one person but evil that needs to be fought by everyone. Also the sort isn’t finished yet. If there is one fantasy world appreciating women in power, it’s this one.

I think of balefire as - yes the soul can live again- but they’d be brand new and lose all the connections to their past lives Korra style.

I don’t think that I like that. I need Nyneave to still be our queen of the impossible.
