Extremely exciting to see this article on CNN about my new national nitrate analysis and map that was released today. It features quotes from @theswinerepublic.bsky.social and Iowa State Rep. Dr. Austin Baeth. www.cnn.com/2026/04/23/h...
#Iowa CHRIS JONES for Secretary of Agriculture is the right person for the times and the situation.
This race matters, not just for stewardship of the farmland around us, but for the very water we drink.

“It’s a peace-of-mind issue,” Jones said. “If you know the water coming out of your tap is above 3 milligrams per liter of nitrates and you want peace of mind, then I think a reverse osmosis system on the kitchen cold tap is advisable.”

Abt 2.5 million lbs of nitrate-nitrogen will pass by the town of Wapello in the Iowa River today.
About 1.6 million lbs will pass through keosauqua in the Des Moines River. 2 rivers, 1 day, 4.1 million lbs. That’s equal to contents of 1200 anhydrous ammonia nurse tanks that you see in fields now.

Chris Jones for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture talks CLEAN WATER.
Cool @alliancegreatlakes.bsky.social project development. You can now see real time data of pollution flowing into Lake Erie.
