I'm having a hard time believing my eyes with water data this year.

The Colorado River mainstem through Grand Junction was flowing at 54 cfs last night. Not a typo. 54 cfs.

Last year on this date it was flowing at 1,420cfs. Even in 2002, the driest year on record, it was at 690cfs on April 22.

This pisses me off so much because do you know what we didnt get to do in Texas? vote for the new gerrymandered maps. That shit was so unpopular they had to push that *congressional* vote thru at like 2am on a saturday (piggybacking on the special session called in after kids died in a bad flood)

Indeed. Complaints about redistricting are invalid. Republicans did it everywhere and invalidated a Constitutional Amendment so they could do it on explicitly racial lines.

There are two choices: use the same levers of power as Republicans do, or let them win. There is no "principled" opposition.

Gerrymandering sucks. But I've been a hyper-gerrymandered Texas voter all my adulthood, and I am tired of Democrats tying an arm behind their backs. Every Blue state should gerrymander, until we finally get a national anti-gerrymandering law that ends the practice entirely.

2—Jen Kiggans: Trump+0 to Harris+5

5—John McGuire: Trump+12 to Harris+8.5

Dems already could flip 1 & 2 on the current map, but their odds would greatly improve with the new map

Remember, Democrats have repeatedly advanced measures to ban partisan gerrymandering and Republicans have voted against them time after time.

We should gerrymander because it’s good when Democrats win elections, and if there’s a danger of revenge, we can just congressionally ban gerrymandering nationwide. With our majority.
