Sonic Unleashed victory screen in super ultrawide (7680x2160).

Sonic Unleashed in ultrawide 120fps feels absurd but AMAZING. Once again Sonic fans have achieved something spectacular with this release. This might be technically the best Sonic port for PC? There are so many QOL options and everything looks and plays flawlessly.

I have stated for years that when Unleashed comes to the PC, this is the first thing modders will do. And they did.

I still listened to the whole thing again, just confirming everything with this context. In both times he referenced any "game", he never stated any singular entry. He just says, e.g. "In the game, Funky sells many helpful items in his shop".

I just realized that the games are not labeled as COUNTRY in Japan. So what he really said is "Here is the shop of Donkey Kong Country [amusement park], the one you can see from the game's map screen". No singular game was ever referenced! I apologize for my mistake, I read the context wrong.

I can't specify anything, I just translated what he said. He does not specify it either! You can check the original script yourself if you don't believe me. We can only guess. I think "Donkey Kong Country" is used as a series here and not meant to reference any singular entry.

I checked the Japanese script and Miyamoto says nothing about "original games". He basically says "the shop from Donkey Kong Country which you can see from the map screen". That's definitely something they added in the translation.

I finally completed this one! I don't like to be so negative, but this... wasn't quite it. The GBA port was a unique, interesting, and fun game, but this DS version felt like a fan project without any kind of direction or quality control. Unfortunately, this was not a sleeper hit, just... a sleeper.
