Monday May 26 is “Memorial Day” in the US, a day to be mindful of those who have died in service to their country. This week's word roots are MEM/MEMOR = Mind/Mindful. Words such as memory, remember, commemoration & more are derived from these roots.
2/2 Rehearsing (an authentic form of repeated reading) and performing poetry and song is an excellent (and artful) way to build reading fluency (SOR) – automatic word recognition and prosody (expressiveness).
