I’m really really trying today to, when I see a political thing I think about commenting on, instead go find some good photos I like from other photographers and reposting those. I’m trying to see if I can make social media less bad for my health
"There would be signs"
Whatever happens, we know with such an erratic and malicious regime in the US, the renegotiations will be an economically volatile period for Canadians. One that could lead to a recession.
A bit of context, the US has been weaponizing those ties to extort one-sided concessions harmful to Canadians. The US is approaching this with a pillaging mentality empowered by the population asymmetry, versus mutual benefit.
And if the US don't get their way, they'll blow up the agreement.
One of the things I always look on Marketplace for is a Curta calculator.

For what it's worth, I don't think it's worth counter-protesting a rally like this one. They're like a fart in the wind.
It's better to save that for when they're trying to disrupt others.
Viva Frei, a convoy conspiracy theorist, and Jeff Evely, another transphobe who got big over his opposition to measures to protect the public during the worst of covid.
They truly got the cream of the crop.
Yeah with Hands Off Our Kids being dead, they might only have dozens of people showing up. Also lol at 2 Tiktok followers.
Not many followers, though people with high follower counts are sharing on Facebook.
This might mean that there's paltry attendance, versus the hundreds from last time.
The featured speakers are whose who: Chris fleury (JCCF/CAWSBAR), Mia Hughes (CAWSBAR), Ann Gillies (Whatever Happened to Emily), Kellie-Lynn Pirie (Detrans Alliance Canada), Barry Neufeld.
Looks like their shop with AI-generated branded swag for this event is run by the convoy affiliated front "Veterans4Freedom".
It's always the same actors.
There will be an anti-trans rally on Parliament Hill on May 5th at 1PM.

Canadian anti-trans chuds are gearing up for a May 5 event in Ottawa. They’ve been emboldened by anti-trans developments in the UK & US attacking healthcare for trans & gender diverse youth. There’s currently a flurry of pieces in the media there. Let your Ottawa friends know! maydaycanada.com
There's a tower beacon for sale on Marketplace and my inner desire for chaos wants to buy it.
💯
If you want to trap me, you'd just need one of these. Or an Autozam AZ-1.
SCOOP: McGill University's on-campus doctors are now refusing to prescribe hormones to trans youth and adults under age 19... if they're U.S. citizens.
They claim liability issues, but this isn't the first time U.S. EOs have interfered with Canadian doctors.

Stigmatizing the pursuit of trans rights is not being "pro trans".
Okay he just bodied David Brooks who apparently in a mid 00s column tried argue for ending social welfare programs based partly on social conflict behavior models for great apes (!?!?). I’m 90% done and definitely recommend this book.
A 95 page document from the Privy Council Office about the use (or lack thereof) of Palantir across the Canadian government.
I looked to see if the Canadian government used Palantir. Here's a comprehensive answer; looks like DND did to evaluate it but that's it.

I'm so glad "oh like Caitlyn Jenner" is no longer in cis people's vocabulary like it once was.
