Yes, I had the same experience a few months ago. The new one is too shiny, however the old stuff is still available direct from the manufacturer via Amazon - search for Hycote

Was really hoping this book in the Korean National History Museum would turn out to be a battle formation … gutted to discover it’s the Order of March for a Princesses wedding …

Has anyone else out there ever idly wondered if the paint-naming team at @thearmypainter.bsky.social had someone specific in mind when they came up with such a poetically alliterative moniker for this particular shade of green ?

(And.. was it signed off on Friday afternoon perchance ?)

Nothing like a bit of rebasing and LBMS-applying to upgrade those tired old figures who’ve spent far too long languishing at the back of the #Bisley drawers …

It's just a straightforward crosshatch pattern - it "looks like" a checked keffiyeh when it's on a 15mm figure at tabletop distances, but probably more as that's what your eye expects to see .. and attempting actual checks would have looked really rubbish anyway!

I'm talking about going back maybe 20-25 years - at one point a tank was simply a tank in PBI...

Its when they started introducing different grades of gun and armour around 2005 is where it started to go off piste !

I enjoyed playing it immensely back in the day, but I also have a strong suspicion that every edition of PBI has gotten a little more complex and a little less playable.

(Perhaps these two things are linked... now, that'd be a first for the evolution of Wargame rules eh?!)

Based on wargamesabi know, I’m pretty sure the Venn diagram of “wargamers” and “people who like juvenile stuff with a war theme” is actually kinda circular 😜

Tiny tanks on table last night at #CLWC. Whilst it feels somehow unclean to say so, it’s our 2nd bash at Team Yankee and … it’s actually quite entertaining

Really good - great coverage. The Demonic Yellow is the first yellow I’ve ever bought that actually covers properly in one coat - I’ve even been tempted to buy some of the 6-part “triads” (through Amazon)

There are a few places where the top edge of the sail has a small slit cut into it, but the whole piece is so visually complex to look at I don’t think anyone will ever notice !
