I totally imagine that Young Silco was aware that a lot of people joined the cause because they were down bad for him, but Older Silco is completely unaware that people *still* are down bad for him (other than Vander).

Vander feels like someone who might have had much younger siblings who passed away a lot time ago, and still keeps track of how old they might have been if they'd lived.

I highkey headcanon Silco as an orphan, but possibly having grown up with Felicia and considering her as a sister. Just the way he's absolutely convinced Jinx would leave him for her sister makes me think that he once had a sister he would have done anything for.

I think it would have been really interesting to explore Mel coming to the full realization that state violence and the violence of poverty is *still* brutality used to oppress and conquer populations, just like her mother's overt violence of war.

Personally, I think that's what she might have liked about Piltover! We see in the scenes with her mother when she was young that she abhors violence and war. A lot of her character arc is her internal struggle with her mother's ideology versus her own.

This is after Vi's introduction in S1E1 where she says "You think anyone topside's going hungry?"

It's so startling because as clever and brilliant as she is, she is so blind to the suffering of the most vulnerable population for whom she governs as a Councilor.

At the same time, some of her first lines are incredibly jarring in the context of the class divide between Piltover and Zaun.

S1E2
Elora: [...] you are the richest person in Piltover
Mel: Yet I remain the poorest Medarda

As much as I love Mel, she is in fact guilty of contributing to the oppression of Zaunites during her time on the Council. She's a complex character! I love her for her cleverness and her complicated relationship with her mother.

S2 Jayce and Viktor, right after Viktor has been reanimated by the Hexcore. Jayce is shirtless with bandages over his torso; Viktor is wearing Jayce's blue blanket. Jayce looks at Viktor with relief and excitement, but Viktor is looking sidelong at Jayce, visibly less pleased.
