Ipswich Town have hard questions to answer after Nigel Farage PR disaster | Nick Ames Reform’s use of the football club has shocked fans and left the ownership red faced but how did it happen?

Politics and football don’t mix? Tell that to Ipswich’s players, who are not happy about Farage’s visit. What a mess, and many tough questions still to answer: www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Part of the reason I have been so passionate about getting my colleagues to come to Bluesky and setting infrastructure up for us here is that it's continually becoming clear how urgently we need avenues for reporting and discourse that are not controlled by billionaires and corporations.

Also glad it was a good result because the absolute beaut of a @callmeteditfc.bsky.social print I brought before the game is now associated with good footballing memories. Would have hit different if we'd lost.

Second #itfc home game of the season. Portman Road exploding after the Omari equaliser followed by all four stands of the ground singing in unison? That's impeccable football feels. That's the finest football team the world has ever seen. 🤌🏻🚜💙

the thing about bluesky that has been nice over the last year is not just the absence of Nazis, though that is a real plus, but also the absence of the class of people who spend all day arguing that the left is a greater threat than the actual Nazis they find kind of edgy and fun and cute

We had a good ten years where a bunch of nobodies like us could report on power centers and structural inequality and abuses of power and citizens from government, employers and their surrogates. The end of Twitter as that vehicle really was the end of that, which was obviously the point.

Cannot help but wonder if, in at least one draft, one of the Barbies just looked straight down the camera and said "the master's tools will never dismantle the master's Dream House!"

Also I've been more of a lurker than poster on Twitter over the last couple of years and feel like I have to re-learn how to post so I can contribute to this website so there are enough posts for it to be good. But is it worth the hassle?? Who is to say!????

They finally let me on here. It's better than Threads and I've followed a bunch of people I already follow on Twitter, but I'm still not sure how to set it up to be actually good. Also there are also too many platforms these days (please eliminate 3) meaning all the good posts are spread thinly.
