Oregon’s Secretary of State declines to discuss a potential deal with the DOJ to share private voter data with the federal government, saying the administration wants to use the data to "silence the people and undermine our elections."
NEW: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott orders a second 30-day special session to begin immediately after the first ended without a quorum.

I joined @democracydocket.com this week to discuss how this moment of crisis requires political courage. I was elected to serve the people of New Jersey’s 10th to give them a seat at the table—no matter who the president is.
They've been inoculated against it by years of Foxification.
Pirro is as reviled in her hometown as Trump is.
They mistakenly think laughing is a sign of respect.
Ever notice how the least respected people in the world, like Jeanine Pirro and her pedo felon mentor Trump, can't stop referring to themselves as "highly respected? 🤔
If wishes were horses!
Breaking BOMBSHELL: US Attorney Jeanine Pirro says hundreds of Republicans convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers on January 6th who were pardoned by Trump will be re-arrested‼️
Like I said treat for depression before allowing. If getting GOOD therapy and meds or other treatments don’t work out societies can afford to make people’s lives easier and more pleasant. It doesn’t take much. Adult day health does wonders. Meals on wheels etc does also. Volunteer visitors help.
3: All of the things I believe in the abstract (cases of incurability, irreversibility) get so messy if/when extending MAID to mental illness. So does bodily autonomy when "suicidality" and "a firm belief that one's condition is hopeless" are core symptoms of a mental illness.
I’d call that abuse unless said to access if the person was contemplating suicide.
This administration is working hard on their shell game. "Where's the Epstein files now?" Anything to distract the public from the most recent administrative disaster, then on to the next blunder. They're like an amateur juggler pelting the audience with bowling pins.
Essentially, Reyes is teasing out from DC's lawyer, Reich, on the extent of what DC is going to agree Trump (and/or Bondi) can order affirmatively under the Home Rule Act provision that lets Trump temporarily get the "services" of DC police.
Reich is now up.
Reyes: It is not a “chain of command” issue; it is a “what power” issue.
Roth: “If there’s an issue with the writing of the executive order —“
Reyes: “There is an issue with the writing of the executive order.”
Reyes is doing an excellent job of detailing—and getting Roth to respond to—the limited nature of the Home Rule Act exception and how Bondi’s order goes beyond that by rescinding/suspending MPD policies.
Roth claims Bondi’s order is intended to “further implementationalize” the executive order.
"The statute would have no meaning at all" if it did allow the president to "take control" of the police department, Reyes tells Roth.
This is what she's referring to: code.dccouncil.gov/us/dc/counci...
Mitchell Reich, Senior Counsel to the D.C. Attorney General, is arguing for D.C.
Yaakov Roth, who joined DOJ in the Trump administration from Jones Day, is arguing for the Trump administration.
Hearing is underway.
Judge Reyes: "I am not going to rule today on whether or not there is an ... emergency. ... Same thing with respect to federal purpose."
She will address Bondi's order today: Section 1 of the order; Sections 2,3, and 4; and Section 5, then constitutional issues.
The TRO hearing in DC's lawsuit against the Trump admin is set to start in a few minutes. Here is the dial-in info for the public access line, although I imagine it is going to get filled up.
(DC District Court, move hearings over to Zoom, please.)
You have a constitutional right to film law enforcement officers in public. This includes police, FBI and ICE.
Get out those phones.
