Pilate not Pilotโ€ฆ voice dictation with scant review.

I life that movie. I love the whole hippie hashish roll-around-in-the-dirt vibe to it. Romans looking like American GIs with chrome helmets, long greasy hair, purple singlets, and machine guns. Carl Anderson stealing the show as too hip Judas.

This might sound like a strange comment coming from a old atheist, but if Iโ€™m gonna see Jesus Christ Superstar, the dude needs to look like a California hippie circa 1972, and Pilot must have a snooty British accent. Canโ€™t escape my programming.

Very dark fiction though she often pulls from all too real human horrors.

No, is that one you liked? I read โ€œZombieโ€ and thought, โ€œDamn, Joyce. Thatโ€™s frickinโ€™ disturbing.โ€ Not afraid to embrace the darkness. She can do anything.

I just finished Joyce Carol Oates' "FOX" - repulsive, mesmerizing, and brilliant. It's about a monster who hides in plain sight, and how expectations and internal narratives are as good as blindfolds. Humans will believe in almost anything, or anyone, right up until it's too late. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜ฑ #darkfiction

Yes, but heavily involved in the strangeness of the story. I hate stories with animal harm. This isnโ€™t that.

I quite liked this. Equally disturbing and mysterious throughout, plus, Iโ€™m a sucker for a cat POV. Dark story that brings it home. ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜ฑ #horrornovel #darkfiction #horrorlover #catlover @catrionaward.bsky.social

Itโ€™s a sunny winterโ€™s day today. Shorts on, head full of Covid, country closed down for Easter. Nothing to do but burble and stew.

I was 17 in 1978, an American expat living through the revolution in Iran. I listened to this song a lot. Wandering the streets of Tehran, stoned on cheap hashish, oblivious to the world around me. โ€˜Downed, downed, out of my head.โ€™ Yep. Takes me right back there.

How many times have I watched compromised men use conflict to their own advantage? Far too many. Itโ€™s the oldest (and deadliest) story in the world. #stopthewars

Thousands queue as doors open at revamped Wellington Library after seven years Two central Wellington landmarks have drawn significant crowds after years-long closures.

This is not a concert or a sporting event. These people are queued up for the re-opening of the Wellington Library. I love living in a country where libraries mean so much to so many. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

Itโ€™s March 9 and my Christmas tree is still up. I listen for whispers in the shadows. I prefer storms to sunny days. I enjoy a good stick tree with bobbles. ๐Ÿ–ค Itโ€™s a good dark life.

Got a horror mate who loves his 80s slasher films. Not a reader so I loaned him โ€œMy Heart is a Chainsawโ€ by Stephen Graham Jones. He came back with a set of Friday the 13th DVDs. I reckon Iโ€™ll watch the first one and the fourth one? ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜ฑ #horrormovie #horrornovel #stephengrahamjones #fridaythe13th

Itโ€™s heartbreaking to watch the Trump Administration giving Death From Above cheerleading pressers. Dollars for death; rich manโ€™s war, poor manโ€™s bill.

Iโ€™m a horror fan in my 60โ€™s. One of my 20-something coworkers gave me a gift today. He apologized that is was a beat up and tattered but thought I might enjoy it. I love it, and Iโ€™ll hang it on my wall forever and ever and ever. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ˜ฑ #stanleykubrick #stephenking #theshining #horrorfan

I just read that he was pretty reactionary on his socials. Always a tough choice - art vs. artist. I donโ€™t care much for group-think nor do I wish to support objectionable ideas. It often depends on how much I enjoy their art if Iโ€™m willing to stomach their bullshitery. I liked โ€œThe Terrorโ€ though.

Sorry to hear of Dan Simmonsโ€™ passing. Iโ€™ve only read โ€œThe Terrorโ€ by him but thoroughly enjoyed it. Any other recommendations from his horror catalog? ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ˜ฑ #horrorstory #darkfiction #horrorfan
