I’m not sure why I’m getting such a kick out of this, but on my walk this morning, my foot slid on something laying on the sidewalk. Looking down, angry and expecting to see a pile of dog crap, I found, much to my delight, that for the first time in my life, I’d actually slipped on a banana peel.

Regret to inform everyone that Peter Magyar beat the world’s smartest illiberal populist in large measure by working incredibly hard for 2 straight years, meaning the rest of us are just going to have to get off our asses and do shit rather than just complaining.

In other news, there is nothing better than coming home to two dogs who believed you might have gone away forever and want to smother you with doggie kisses for thirty minutes for not having gone away forever after all.

The absolute best.

If you need a break from all the serious stuff on your feed, try my mini starter pack of quirky accounts. Sometimes I just realllllly need a break from politics and the general on-fire-ness of the world.

When I first moved to a little country town when I was 5 the library was one of the first places my mum took me. They had a limit on how many books you could take out, but the librarian saw I was hungry for more and let me take out however many books I wanted. We were dirt poor, but I never felt it

I did this on Twitter years ago and got some amazing answers. Let's see if we can get #LibrariesChangeLives trending and show what amazing things can grow from properly funded public services and the value of providing free access to books, reading and educational resources for all.

Please remember that dandelions are not truly weeds. They are the bees first meal in the spring. Grow and protect the dandelions, save the bees and you save the world.
