Just released muesli-bt + muesli-studio: Lisp-centred robotics behaviour trees with bounded-time planning per tick, cancellable async calls, logs + deterministic replay. Studio inspects/replays + live monitors via WebSocket. github.com/unswei/muesli-bt | github.com/unswei/muesli-studio
This is a non-technical, but not simplistic presentation showing patterns across history that we seem to be repeating. I think it works equally well for everyone interested in this area, whether you actually work in AI or came to AI more recently.
Just watched “Are We Having the Wrong Nightmares About AI?” by Zeynep Tufekci - what a great keynote.
It avoids the usual AI apocalypse doomsday stuff, but then, it’s also a bit deeper than the 100 repeat of the “this can’t work and I told you so” messages you hear from some.
Just a matter of time for a version of this for real robots
transformers …
Thank you!
This Monday, I am joining UNSW as Associate Professor in Robotics in the School of Computer Science and Engineering.
I will be working on embodied intelligence and collective robotics, and recruiting PhD students in this area.

I suspect they're using deep belief networks ...
And that's the official part of the year done ... it's been a big one. Time to leave the robots behind in the lab for a short break. Thank you to all colleagues and collaborators - see you all very soon again :)
