Behind the scenes of the hard hat BART content
Posts by Javier Panzar
The feedback has been awesome. The comments are full of sweet stories about people's connection to BART and more across all our social platforms.
I surprised him with the card, the video and a microphone and he was so genuine and sweet. Maybe a little confused at first but once he realized what I was showing him, it all clicked. I was thrilled with it had all finally come together.
I went down there, hung out with this supervisor and waited for Rohman to check in for the day. As he came up
the stairs I got a little nervous!
I was finally meeting this dude I’d heard so much about.
With @aliciatrost.bsky.social ‘s help I figured out how to find Rohman and where to surprise him:
The next Monday at Berryessa Station, 30 minutes before he went out on his first train of the day.
We met up and I recorded her reading her amazing card along the Ohlone Greenway with a train passing by in the background.
I also gifted the little kiddo a BART stuffy to thank them for their time.
The TO was Casey’s pal Rohman:
"I've know Rohman since the start of my career. He's a good dude that you WANT to get on camera. Rohman has hella charisma and LOVES to talk."
I reached out to the mom and told her we found the mystery train operator! Time to start writing that thank you card.
So I turned to my man Casey in Transportation (who showed me around the BART Test Track for a video last year) and armed him with a couple of screenshots, train numbers and timestamps.
Casey got back to me in 9 minutes!!

I watched and reshared as they kept coming in. The kiddo went from crawling to sitting and soon enough they started getting the BART Beep from a Train Operator, again and again!
One day we got a DM asking if we could get a Thank You card to this mystery operator.
So how do we find them??
Well …
So this is probably my favorite social vid I've made since starting at BART in 2024.
Here is how it came to be: When I came back to work from paternity leave last year I saw we had been tagged in a few posts featuring this baby rail fan. I asked the mom if BART could repost them and she said sure

Ever wonder how BART tunneled under the streets of San Francisco?
Watch this film from our archives. Find the full version on our YouTube page!
Two Calweld oscillating tunnel-boring machines were used to bore twin mile-long tunnels between the Mission Street lines and the Market Street lines.
Cycling down the Transbay Tube?! It happened.
Watch the full archival film “A Vision to Reality” on BART’s YouTube page.
It’s groovy

All hail @bsquiklehausen.com
Maybe I’ll make reading comically enormous books on BART my new bit for 2026
For context
