Graphic with a quote from First Minister John Swinney on a yellow background. The quote reads: “Independence is the catalyst that will deliver a better future for us all. It can be a fresh start for all of us – putting us in charge of our own destiny and our immense resources.” At the bottom right, there is a photo of John Swinney smiling and waving in a suit and tie. The SNP logo and Scottish flag are shown beside the slogan: “Always on Scotland’s side.”
A better future with independence - real change that will make a difference to your life.
Independence is how we build the Scotland we all deserve.
MSP Shirley-Anne Somerville, "Labour's Welfare Bill will push 50,000 children into poverty" #BBCQT
"PIP has nothing to do with helping people into work. It's a benefit to ensure that the additional costs that you have from being disabled from having a long term condition are assisted with"
the sight of Starmer at the Spend More on War conference declaring that we must spend less on welfare is quite something
The Iraq playbook is back & the media won’t question it.
Iran has no nuclear weapons. Israel — on trial for genocide — does. Iran signed the NPT & allows IAEA inspections. Israel hasn’t — & its leaders face ICC arrest warrants.
Beware of politicians beating the drums of war.
That's £2bn less in real terms, assuming inflation of 2%/year between now and 2029.
NEW: Stephen Flynn has said an independent Scotland led by the SNP would break off diplomatic relations with Israel and close embassies in the country
🗣️ 'I'm deeply, deeply upset and angry about what's happened in Gaza and what continues to happen in Gaza'
scottish labour's latest attack line is "the snp want to spend money on a new prison for murderers" and i just want to know who in labour's comms office is on the snp's payroll because that's the most preposterous attack line for labour to make against another party i can ever conceive of
Labour's taste for biological extremism is both creepy and dangerous. 'Fat jabs' for the poor and chemical castration for sex offenders is the stuff of dystopian sci-fi. You cannot medicalise your way to good government

it's a picture of SNP conference
Man if only there was a social democratic party in Europe with a consistent record of winning elections while neither pandering to racists on immigration and integration nor devolving into crass anti-Europeanism. Pic unrelated
Immigration is good, and we should have more of it, everywhere.
england look what you've done. you've gone and made darren grimes a fucking councillor. are you proud of yourself

I wasn't the only one who was right but Scottish independence. We were warned Boris Johnson would be PM; we were warned the UK could leave the EU; we were warned about the rise of the far right and we were warned the UK would interfere in Scottish laws. Told that was all nonsense. It wasn't
If you've lost this sweet princess, we've dropped her off at RSPCA Finsbury Park Animal Hospital. Was running in front of cars and absolutely terrified. She's chipped and they're trying to contact you
All this money & energy spent to make life more miserable for trans people could've been used to fight against domestic violence, wage disparity, sexual harassment, harassment of people accessing abortion services, proper childcare provision; you know, to make the world a better place instead.
The Equality Act was passed in 2010, it was not the source of the social progress that led to it’s creation and it has not been the source for the progress that followed (nor has it protected us from regression).
The ruling today is a bump on the road towards trans liberation, not the end of it.
If Labour at Westminster can nationalise British Steel, why not the same for Grangemouth?
If it can fund London’s supercomputer, it can reinstate Edinburgh’s.
If it green-lights carbon capture in England, the north-east of Scotland must follow.
Scotland’s people deserve better.
Headline by Anas Sarwar. "We can use our ties with Trump to make Scotland greater again."
Labour has a history of links to fascism. It's happening again... for money.
Scottish Labour: "We'll compromise with the fascist leader who is determined to grind already poor people into the dirt."
I wonder with it coming so early in the year if it's having more of an impact effect on people. My daughter was pretty bad this morning and she usually only experiences mild symptoms. I hope you feel a bit better soon though x
Here's a sneak peek at something I've been working on for a while: a cohort analysis of support for Scottish secession, seeking to offer (early) evidence on whether voters grow more unionist as they age.
The answer (thus far) is no.
Maybe hayfever?
LSE analysis shows 700,000 children could be lifted out of poverty overnight if the UK followed Scotland’s approach.
Westminster is holding us back. With independence, we can build a fairer, more just society—on our terms.

Kind, compassionate and full of life. A politician who wore her heart on her sleeve and made the world a better place. She brought joy to everyone who knew her - especially to her soulmate, Keith, and her beloved boys, Lewis and Jack. Christina McKelvie MSP - I was so proud to call you my friend 💛
Christina McKelvie MSP, 1968-2025
Christina McKelvie's partner, Keith Brown, along with her sons, Lewis and Jack, are deeply saddened to announce her passing this morning at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
🗣️ Stephen Flynn is right - Labour’s cuts will push disabled people and their families into poverty 👇
