Me on PoetryOutLoud with the caption beneath me reading “A boy known for lying says he saw a rodeo clown”
I love you, PBS, and I love watching the captions split my poem up into silly little lines. What’s the rest of the poem say? I’m NEVER telling.

Growing up in the country made me unafraid of spiders and a friend to daddy long-legs. So when I ran out of the shower soaking wet this morning due to a daddy long-legs sighting near the stream of water it was actually a rescue mission. 🫡
“work flowerlike” is the motto forever and ever
“And in this long season
of machines and mechanical will
there have been small human acts
of compassion, acts of care, work
flowerlike in selfless loveliness.”

“The world is too much with us” is about my seasonal allergies
A man with glasses and long curl hair in front of a microphone. The caption reads “I believe in the occasional miracle.”
I love judging Poetry Out Loud and my local PBS station. Watch the amazing Kansas high schooler representing our state in the national finals on April 28!
A ceramic kewpie figurine reflected in the mirror on an old shaving mug
Staging photos of the kewpie doll in my mother’s bathroom is one of my hobbies
Yesterday I watched a mother walk her small child into the donut shop while he was wearing a donut patterned polo and singing a song about eating donuts. Delighted to be a witness.
My alabaster milk child Teuton keeps asking for ranch dressing at the caviar factory, it is most epic. The fishmongers despise him.
This is from a talk with Roxane Gay. Dua Lipa’s conversations with writers are always great. She’s very thoughtful and cares deeply about art.
A screenshot of Annahstasia’s Live at Glasshaus featuring the song “Slow”
This Annahstasia live album is jaw dropping. Just SO beautiful.
Still furious that they took JoAnn Fabrics from us
Interchangeably playing Animal Crossing and Pokopia, a real indicator that things aren’t great
Writing my congressman insisting that all animation be 2D again but they blocked me after the last letter
When shit starts to get really bad (like endless wars), my social algorithms start pulling up old System of a Down videos
Traitors is very appealing to me as someone who loves to judge people and lie.
God that's nearly double the number I saw when I woke up like an hour ago
Kansas is a beautiful state and trans folks make it better. Our politicians are vile and small. They obsess over cruelty. The prairie is a remarkable place of wonder and resilience. Our legislature cannot imagine a better world, they are too starved by their own bigotry.
I have stayed on my reps about this horrific bill, but they are small and cruel people. Keep in mind they refused to allow public comment on the bill that allowed this. They know it’s mean and evil.
I just can’t stop thinking about this, how scared and alone he was. Left to die. The absolute cruelty of these ghouls.
We’ve always been very private in the past, but we introduced ourselves to our neighbor when we moved and it’s been great. We keep an eye on each other and the neighborhood. We check in frequently. No cameras. She’s a kind old lady, but she’ll absolutely take no shit.
Ring is a wildly dangerous company. Always has been. But it has sort of flown under the radar the last couple years as it tried to soften its image. Make no mistake that this is an extremely dangerous surveillance dragnet:

Okay so a thing I LOVED about that is how, whereas so many halftime shows kind of elevate the star above the other dancers/extras—often literally—that was like the exact opposite, he was *with and among* the people around him
I will eventually shut up about this but Bad Bunny’s use of the power lines is an outstanding example of how to communicate about climate and energy issues. Not about who is the smartest nerd in the room and spewing numbers but about people’s actual lives. Genius.

Every year the ads are more dystopian and sinister. An endless carousel of supplements and bots, truly dark.
