Happy Absolute Batman day to all who celebrate. This issue RIPS!
This and @fourcolorfantasies.bsky.social weekly preview are my Tuesday fuel!!!
Tuesday night means you turn on the thingy and wait for @lordretail.bsky.social to review the weeks new comics…
At the extreme risk of contributing to the literal dumbest timeline, I would to go on the record: I too support the Redd Kross.
Like I dunno…the Ramones(?)…one could plausibly argue you need only one OR every Bonnie Prince Billy album. I guess I land in the latter category predictably. His music is consistently a welcome balm, the newest no exception.
Really really loved this show. Was pretty taken by its many layers and just exceptional performances from the three leads…plus Richard Jenkins who basically stole the whole show. Affecting!
They crowded up to Lenin with their noses worn off. (Sounds as fresh as spring flowers.)
File along side the recently featured Touch Girl Apple Blossom under: Unusually Good C86-y Songcraft That Belies Its Scrappy Construction aka The Kids Are (Mostly) Alright in the Big 26 slipperssss.bandcamp.com/album/slippe...
If you put a nun or a priest in your book I will very likely read it. Bonus points if you include a marine archaeologist. Well done @dbandry.bsky.social! I picked the right indie #1 for me this week.
The Misha Panfilov fascination continues unabated. Everything this guy touches seems to be magic. mpsc.bandcamp.com/album/to-the...

Superheroes…they’re just like us.
It’s still early but so far my fave album of 2026 is a live jazz album from an Estonian guitarist/composer and his six multinational friends that was recorded in 2023 but released in 2024 by an independent label based in Detroit. @funknight.bsky.social
Interesting backstory on this one: young LA instrumentalist receives life altering diagnosis, channels grief and coping through music and records solo debut. Hypnotic 70s-era Impulse! album ensues… @leavingrecords.bsky.social
Dang y’all…‘sgood. Real good. Guess you could say I’m….In On In On The Firsttaker.
Classic!
Got any supremely under the radar bands you’ve been championing for ages? Mine’s Tahiti 80 from France…who hasn’t released anything in the US since 2005(?). But whose quality nonetheless still hasn’t dipped! Were I reductive I’d say like a better version of Phoenix!
Happy Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring finale to all who celebrate! @patrickhorvath.bsky.social you ok?!?! :)
Mark Lewisohn is like a Beatle to me. I’m in awe of him and could listen to him speak forever!
