It's definitely one that sticks with you! My daughter is currently studying it at school so I'm glad to be able to her assist her a bit, as I think it's quite a tough book for kids now. Definitely preferred my Adrian Mole at that age!
π March Reads!
Another month of good choices!
- Clown in a Cornfield (Adam Cesare)
- 11/22/63 (Stephen King)
- The Only Good Indians (Stephen Graham Jones)
- Poe-Land (J.W. Ocker)

The #TwentyBooksChallenge!
Completed this today, so I thought I'd take a look back at the twenty books I chose which have influenced me, or stayed with me.
I suppose then, these are the books that have shaped me. Quite an eclectic selection π
Who said writing books for children was easy?!
The Platypus, by Me π
Available for FREE now on the link above πβ¬οΈ
π§΅
I hope you all enjoy this updated version.
I write poetry purely for enjoyment, but this book genuinely took me around 3 years to mould into what it is today, and I really just want it to make people smile, and have fun whilst reading it! πͺ‘π§΅
Perfect for 4-11 year olds, (but apparently appeals to grown ups too!), with a good mix of interesting words to learn and talk about, and it's had some lovely reviews which have blown me away! πͺ‘π§΅
I wrote The Platypus for my daughter when I was an SEN teaching assistant, with influences from Roald Dahl, Julia Donaldson and Spike Milligan.
It's a nonsense rhyming story about kindness, friendship, and acceptance, no matter how strange you are! πͺ‘π§΅
Morning!
Yesterday, I picked up an old friend, The Platypus, and made some improvements, so now it has a shiny new cover and better internal layout!
Better yet, The Platypus is now FREE to all until Sunday and FREE on KU for always π

We've always liked Menorca and this year we found a villa with an #infinity pool and a sea view. I like to do a few lengths before breakfast and got up early on Sunday. The first length normally takes a bit longer while I get warmed up, but it's Wednesday now and this is getting ridiculous.

Five chapters into my first draft. It's only taken about 15 years to get back to writing this, but I feel like I might actually finish it this time!
My biggest concern right now is all these words, and all this story so far... will it be worth it?
Can I even write?
Only time will tell...

Good morning!
I must catch up on my vss365 prompts today π¬ Been slacking a bit this week!
A Wordle a day is also back. I figure if I surround myself with words, they might actually make it on to a page in some sort of orderly fashion at some point π
