'What's a bridge for?'

I wasn't doubting that you'd seen Audouin's Gulls, by the way. I just wanted to see the first bird from another angle. Those photos of a perched bird are lovely!
Walk. You can go to bed early once it's dark.
Any other photos of that?
Hearing them is the easy bit alright!
The dilemma of a birder with a camera. After a long vigil on Monday, a Cetti's Warbler in east Cork blessed me with very good views under 10m away in a small leafless tree. For about 7-8 seconds. Birders will know how hard it can be to see this species well, so I plumped for binocular views. No pics
The Come-Uppance of Captain Katt.
Wishing you many more anniversaries to come, have a great day!
I'm a lapsed Catholic, but, at times like this, when terrible people attack the Pope for daring to speak about issues of morality, you bet I'm on his side! Keep on keeping on, Leo!
Is her name Bok?
You went fishing?
I have mixed feelings at having once been likened to him in appearance, given that he was playing a Nazi in this.
Nice Mandarin!
Song Thrush
female Eurasian Blackbird
male Common Starling
Willow Warbler in song and two Barn Swallows at the Tramore Valley Park yesterday evening. No photos of those, but some common passerines showed well in excellent light.
I can hear the theme tune to I Claudius in my mind while watching this!
I never liked it, but not because of the fiddly bit, more I was never much of a pop fan (as against rock/alternative/indie). Wasn't one of B'Witched Shane Lynch's sister?
'I wonder if Irish people get as sick of that as Scottish people do of bag pipes?'. Oh yes. Oh very much yes.
As a member of Gen X, though it doesn't really apply here as the Mario franchise has remained relevant, I'm well past bored with every half successful kids' franchise I grew up with being rebooted, instead of people actually coming up with original ideas.
Between up your way, the Lough Corrib area of Galway or the Gearagh down here in Cork, those sites must be the most likely for a breeding attempt.
Also not been fortunate enough to see them in that plumage! Here's one from January 2014 in Oman.
It would make people look in more detail at Great White Egrets here in Ireland, too. Not that they're commonplace yet, but European birds are common enough that some may not really look closer.
One of the best birds I've seen on the island of Ireland, especially as it started to fly around hawking for insects while it was still relatively bright.
Eurasian Eagle Owl in Bulgaria many years ago now (seen Pharoah Eagle Owl since, also a cracking bird), Bald Eagle in the US, African Fish Eagle in Senegal, Baikal Teal at Tacumshin Lake in Wexford and Common Nighthawk in the US and also at Galgorm in Co. Antrim.
A powerful US spy-tech company linked to genocide in Gaza, ICE deportations, and Trump’s war with Iran is now expanding across Europe into our hospitals, police and data systems. We must expose it and stop its expansion action.wemove.eu/sign/2026-03...
Why have you betrayed us? Why have you betrayed ME?
Not in Cork that long either, but there's a site within walking distance now.
All teeth and no curls
The catch with that is that Esther Rantzen herself is 85 years old.
It's brilliant that we have woodpeckers to look upon us with disdain these days! 😉
Is the TV Movie the story with the strongest parallels to that first Easter? The Doctor dying, being placed in the 'tomb' and emerging reborn.
