Fantastic news! 🎉 Huge congrats to the Scout section of Glasgow Disabled Scouts for earning their Scientist badge via the STEMAZING Scientist Challenge! Their curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM were truly inspiring.

This engaging project is all thanks to the generous funding from @iop.org Scotland, who made it possible for us to deliver these equitable and accessible science experiences. 🙏 We're so excited for the next sessions and to continue fostering a love for STEM in these amazing young people!

Last week marked a fantastic start to the next phase of @STEMAZING’s STEM engagement with Glasgow Disabled Scouts! ✨ The Scout section had an fab time exploring buoyancy, and it was so rewarding to see the young people's curiosity sparked as they made tin foil boats and colourful “lava lamps”

Yesterday marked a truly fantastic start to STEMAZING’s STEM engagement with Glasgow Disabled Scouts! ✨

We had an incredible time exploring buoyancy, and it was so rewarding to see the young people's curiosity sparked as they made their own tin foil boats and colourful “lava lamps”.

3/4 We’re keen to make contact with the following organisations in the areas of Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.

Disabled and/or neurodivergent engineer networks
Locations for an in-person seminar
SEND/ASN schools
Public spaces like museums with quiet hours/events for SEND/ASN families

2/4 This is open to engineers with support needs of any gender, however at least 50% of participating engineers should identify as female, so we can still hold true to STEMAZING's core goal of tackling the gender disparity within engineering.

1/4 STEMAZING Spark is developing a funding proposal to work with engineers with disability/neurodivergence. Supporting them to become more confident STEM role models then engage with young people with support needs. Providing the next generation with much needed equitable STEM engagement.
