I decided to re-register an account to enjoy the memes of our 1990s #MoonChild game. ππ
I designed Hoi and Moon Child. Reinier van Vliet coded it, and Ramon Braumuller made the soundtrack.

Thank you and everyone! This is surely a surreal experience. We created Hoi and the Amiga version of Moon Child in the pre-WWW era. Things were distributed on diskettes, and later CD-ROMs. Never could we have guessed that more than 30 years later it would be (re)discovered worldwide via internet. ππ

Here's an earlier one I didn't finish
the batter from OFF:
meme showing the title for the graphic saying: "awareness of the player is a spectrum." with on the left showing the dart monkey from bloons tower defense (the artstyle from btd6) saying: "Oh! Praise be our guiding force, who aids us in our fight against those who would seek to do us harm. Even the sun god bows to them!"
What does a mixed race Oompa Loompa look like?
This is the single funniest thing I have ever seen Bluesky staff do.
Remote recording should be universal for gigs that don't require PCAP. It expands talent pools beyond hubs & allows immunocompromised folks to safely work. It absolutely comes with extra hurdles, but all anyone is asking for is the chance to try out, not be walled off by "in-studio only" mandates.
Kind of funny that Starlink was just under the radar enough to seemingly not have data extraction tools of any kind

that's Shreddage 3 Hydra! and the amp is Guitar Rig 5
last update for now
unfortunately by original i just mean the one in the ROM. there's a good VGM sample doc that lists a bunch of samples used in the game, but most of the links are dead, and digging through the listed synths to find the right one would have been a pain
docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
alright this is fuckin awesome
the synth lead here is the original sample because i had some trouble identifying it. it's layered with a couple other similar leads though, i tried to keep it tasteful
Writing a little bit about Rubato for the next issue of PC Gamer. More people should play Rubato.

There is a Photo Mode option in the main menu. If you select it, you get this:
vagrant story weather
Overcast sky, with a ray of light shining straight down through a gap in the clouds
Oh that's God.
overcast sky, resembling the default skybox in Hammer Editor
It's very Hammer Editor outside

sorry to this guy but this is unfortunately extremely funny to me
I've done a few sculpts and a rigged model in private, it's definitely more than doable.
The issue isn't whether it can't be done, it's the fact that the current model is synonymous with the brand image, for better or worse. Changing it, even for the better, is a massive risk.
it's originally from Star Fox on the SNES!
Yeah I mean they already have given that a shot at least once or twice, to very mixed results. Boom Sonic, although a spinoff, was the face of the brand for a good while - and that entire pillar was definitely a lot more disastrous than they ever could have wanted
full 3D game*
I just think if Sonic Team is playing around with these models anyway, changing weird stuff like Sonic's head shape or whatever, clearly they're fine with modifying this stuff. And I personally wouldn't mind seeing a 3D Sonic that looks more like the cool guy I saw on the old box art as a kid.
I don't think the current Sonic models are wholly bad or unsalvageable, and in some occasions they are used incredibly well - like Unleashed's renders are some of the best in the series. And mind you, they HAVE been adjusting these models from time to time... just often for the worse somehow?
Some folks point at nicer-looking models based on the 2D art, claiming they would never work in a full D game, but you look at a lot of the poses these artists are doing and they don't really use any trickery at all. There are just a lot of basic design nuances that make a huge difference in tandem
I think a really silly notion in this whole Sonic model debate is the idea that the current models look so bleak and boring because that's the only way to make them work well at any angle
