Call them US Gestapo or modern slave catchers, but they should all be locked in a dungeon for their crimes. Abolish ICE.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.
An absolute fucking zero
42% for abolish ICE without an iota of mainstream elected Democratic buy in, this could be over 60% if they tried even a little.
Live your life in such a way that entire streets of strangers don't laugh and cheer when you fall painfully on your ass.
We need to purge them.
ICE killed a member of our community today. ICE showed up at my kid’s daycare today. ICE is bragging about the number of families they’ve torn apart in a matter of days, and promising that their campaign of terror isn’t done.
Two queer women with a 6 year old in school today stopped to film ICE and for their bravery ICE agents murdered one before the other’s eyes. The grief in the survivor’s voice is a knife to the gut. Destroying people and their bonds is what ICE has always done.
Chinga la migra! Abolish ICE!
Love that for you!
Donald Trump has illegally invaded the sovereign country of Venezuela and kidnapped its president. What’s behind the imperial designs behind the U.S. intervention? Here are some tentative thoughts.

We live in a world run by demons
In the past week, the Trump-Vance admin:
–Bombed Nigeria
–Bombed Venezuela, abducted its leader
–Bombed more ships in the middle of the ocean
–Threatened military action in Iran, Colombia, and Cuba
–Accepted the “Israel Prize” & hosted Netanyahu in Mar-a-Lago (despite his soldiers killing Americans)
I hope this evil new imperial venture crashes and burns, which incidentally is also what I hope for every demon in this administration
The demonization of Somalis is no different than the demonization of Haitians before the election. It's a political attack and has to be actively fought—not through half-measures or expressions of tepid concern but by demanding decency from society and respect for all of humanity.
Every book I read in 2025, roughly in the order I read them!
Thank you! But I'm glad you're able to enjoy it :)
I really wish working multiple part time jobs in academia didn't prevent me from taking the train, it's a lovely exp. My plan is that when/if I'm ever able to get a full time position at one place, I'll be able to take the train since I won't have to constantly commute around the county.
Finished. An excellent read. Part of what Kershaw does so well is avoid the Great Man of History trap. In fact, he goes out of his way to analyze the German political landscape & shows how Hitler couldn't have come to power w/o it. 10/10, would absolutely recommend.

As I continue my research for my book about the Nazis, what sticks out to me is we're ruled by fascists, but outside the era of mass politics. On the one hand, it makes it harder for them to mobilize ppl & solidify their rule the way 20th century fascists did. Otoh, makes it harder for us to resist.
When i say “Abolish ICE” please understand that “abolish” is a fun euphemism for something that would get me in trouble for saying.
All of the money that changed hands in the Teapot Dome scandal totaled less than $10 million after adjusting for inflation, and it was considered so corrupt we still teach it in high school government classes a century later.
I have a baby girl and if there is one place I would absolutely never let her go out of concern for her safety, it'd be a religious conservative space.

In doing research for the book I'm writing about the rise of the Nazis, I just got to the part of Ian Kershaw's biography where he talks about Hitler taking power. Here's a good big picture analysis by Kershaw
After over 3 years on strike, members of the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh (@pghguild.com) have returned to work at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. While the legal battle is still unresolved, this is a major victory for the labor movement.
It's incredible how this guy is aiming 1800s-style bigotry at Muslims and there isn't any real outcry among those in power. These people are all demons.
