Last night I watched the final episode of season 2 of The Pitt and finished reading Theo of Golden. Goodness, my soul was full. I can't recommend both of them enough!

I’m loving this game but I gotta go to bed at some point!
This exchange makes cry every time I see it.
I'm an ordained minister actively serving a local church and this is not good.
I have loved this era of CT. Sad to see Tim move on. Praying for everyone there and the next president now.
In the studio photo, for this blue social media feeds. :)
They forgot to grease the historical markers!
As an #Eagles fan, I can’t believe I have to listen to Tom Brady call this game. But even he can’t spoil it for me today! Go Birds! Fly Eagles Fly!
College student told me I was spittin’ fire in today’s sermon. Maybe the best compliment I’ve ever I gotten. At least I think it was a compliment. I’m old.
I think generally people are more likely to understand "sacrifice of atonement" and it seems very true to the original. But, agreed that the Message is probably unhelpful at best on this one.
Ya, using "mercy seat" is fine by me, but probably requires just as much background knowledge and explanation. I probably lean towards the NIV or NRSV. NRSV has, "whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement by his blood."
First, calling the Message a translation is probably not accurate. Peterson always made clear it was a paraphrase based on one person's understanding of text. He took some liberties for sure. I don't see a problem with NIV, KJV, or NLT. They mostly align with other major translations on this verse.
Spending New Years Eve at a Penn State bar in State College watching Penn State play while drinking a Yuengling. Can’t get more PA than this!
One of my faves as well!
My brother hooked his NES up to a 130 inch projection screen. A night of Tecmo Super Bowl and QB #Eagles for the win!
I love this image. I bought it on Christmas cards this year directly from Everett!
It would be an awful thing to live in a world that is always experiencing winter, but never Christmas.
Older brown and white Shiba dog named "Flash" hanging out around my feet while working.
Whenever we work from home Flash likes to hang out at our feet most of the day.

"For insofar as the church is conformed to the world, and the two communities appear to the onlooker to be merely two versions of the same thing, the church is contradicting its true identity." John Stott, The Message of the Sermon on the Mount, 1978. Page 17
@frutledge.bsky.social following me and liking some of my posts is really encouraging to me! Her writings and sermons have long fed my soul and continually point me to Jesus.
or better yet, share yourself with someone else out of your own weakness, and point them to Jesus, born lowly in Bethlehem. 2/2
My pastoral encouragement this Advent/Christmas season: take some time and serve the hungry, bless the refuge who moved onto your block, or spend time with an outsider - someone hurting that drives you crazy, or maybe be kind to someone having a bad day behind the store checkout counter, 1/2
See The Good Lord Bird. Not a movie. But very good series.
Flash, an older white and brown male Shiba Inu, lays sleepily in his favorite old chair while giving his human a side eye look.
Flash giving me the side eye. "Why can't you just let me sleep human?" #flashfridays #shiba #shibainu #dogs #dogsofbluesky
In 1972, 90% of all Americans claimed a Christian affiliation.
In 2022, it was 64%.
73% of Americans were white Christians.
Now, it's 47%
16% were non-white Christians.
Now, it's 17%.
All the drop in Christianity is a decline in white Christianity.
