A long time ago, a coworker told me about a compiler he used once that had =- as an alias for -=. Someone had written a line like x =-1, which the compiler happily accepted. They spent hours trying looking for the bug.

Trump not knowing about war plans being shared with a journalist could have several explanations:

1. He knows but is denying it
2. He was never told
3. He was told but forgot

It was confirmed that this happened, so #1 is unlikely. It would be alarming if either #2 or #3 is true.
