Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Using your debt, your search history, and your private data to decide how much you’re worth? Hell no.
This is what happens when technology is built to serve profit instead of people.
This is why every worker needs a union.

Indiana doing all this and we can't even get a single, cross town light rail line built in ... [checks notes] ... the birthplace of the modern railroad. #Baltimore #Maryland

More Oregon water for Google’s data centers, more concern over secrecy Conservationists and The Dalles disagree about the implications of Google's thirst, but they agree the company's secrecy is sowing distrust.

"Google’s data centers gulped down nearly 550 million gallons of water in The Dalles in 2025. That’s nearly 40% of all the water consumed in the entire city and a huge jump from the year before."

I thought I had a photo of when this station was 2.85 and diesel was 3.85. I can’t find it. Today it just went up to 4.15 and 6.19. That 6.19 diesel is brutal.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress beforehand, or our allies, or coherently explain to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop this.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

Jeff Bezos is worth $220 billion.

After building that fortune from overworking and exploiting his own workers, Bezos is now developing a fund to acquire manufacturing companies and automate them.

Why do we always hear about immigrants taking jobs when the oligarchs are actually to blame?

The state was never really up for this. It would probably take a compact like BART or MARTA to get it done.

I stand by my statement that even Democratic politicians don’t care about public transit when push comes to shove. They still see these public transit as For The Poors™️ and as a last resort.

The argument comes down to funding, so why is no one talking about allowing the Baltimore area to implement a sales tax to pay for it. Seattle has built *entire light rail network* with this in the time it’s taken to *plan* the Red Line.

Oh FFS.

Don’t even build at this point. BRT along this corridor won’t carry nearly as many people, and it’s the wrong mode for what is needed.

A magnitude 5.8 quake just struck offshore near Cuba. I'm sure it was felt, but maybe it wasn't that bad. Hopefully, it didn't start any fires. Due to fuel shortages from Trump's blockade, there's no electricity nationwide.

The old man in the White House starts an illegal war that is costing over $1 billion a day and now he is spending our money to the tune of $20 billion to reinsure oil tankers in the straight of Hormuz. You wonder why this clown has been bankrupt so many times. Wonder no more.

My boyfriend took me to the Obama Presidential Center as we go to church over near there. He said that the landlords in the area are refusing to renew people’s leases so they can force poor people out ahead of the center opening in June to make room for AirBnBs and rich folks
