Wes Streeting has just indefinitely banned puberty blockers for trans children (under 18). It will be reviewed in 2027. We are disgusted. A few weeks ago Wes Streeting met young trans people, looked them in the eye while they told him exactly why a ban should not be in place and the consequences of doing it. Yet he did it anyway. There should not be a ban. It's not scientific, it's not helping. It is hateful and it is murderous. Trans kids deserve better than this.

We spoke to young trans people who said they shouldn't need to fight against things like this. They should be able to live freely as themselves, and yet they are forced into this corner. All we see is Britain going backwards, helmed by a conservative government draped in red rags...

To follow on from this, if you have a specific GP that you like in your practice ask for them specifically. Having the right doctor and having the same one throughout your journey really makes a difference

I was lucky and Sertraline was my first try and it agreed with me but it’s not always that easy for everyone else. But you gotta trust the process and power through the first few weeks before asking for a different one. You need to be prepared for the possible “it gets worse then it gets better”
