I'm sure there's more money for Australians if she's properly taxed

So, ABC, you've decided to write a terrible article on EVs In the midst of a petrol crisis, attention is being heaped upon electric vehicles. The commentariat has emerged to have their say.

Opinion | Both old and new media are flooding the zone with clickable shit on EVs. Some of the worst offenders are Nine and the ABC, writes John Birmingham. www.crikey.com.au/2026/04/23/e...

James Valentine fought oesophageal cancer for two years. Men are most likely to be diagnosed The ABC radio presenter died at home surrounded by family, using assisted dying laws. The causes of the cancer are unknown, though some factors increase the risk.

I'm really pleased that James Valentine used assisted dying and wanted it to be public.
It is something I support so much.

Weak. Pathetic and unfortunately all too predictable from Labor

Albo has to be one of the worst Labor PM’s we’ve ever had #auspol

Albanese poised to kill off move to increase taxes on gas giants The government will not increase taxes on gas giants in next month's budget, echoing the industry's argument that exporters are already paying tens of billions of dollars in taxes each year.

It'll be the final nail in the coffin of his credibility if he does:

I reckon the majority of Australians would be surprised to learn that Pacific Islanders working here don’t already have this very basic right.

Wherever you look, EV dominance is obvious. Not hype. Just maths.

A 5-year U.S. comparison (UP.FIT): Model Y patrol ~$19k vs gas interceptor ~$84k.

Fuel: ~$62k vs ~$10k
Maintenance: ~$21k vs ~$9.7k

Same job. Different cost structure.

Cost always wins. #Bettrification

Article acknowledges the advocacy campaign is cutting thru to the community. If LAME (Labor Always Makes Mistakes) prevails, IMHO they’ll see a big backlash at the next election & while they may retain govt (due to current super majority), they’re ‘base’ will keep shrinking. #auspol

At some point, does that really matter & I am sure a number of workplace lawyers would handle this case … if it did come to that ! 🙏🥂

In the past two days my staff, security and other supermarket staff have been witness to a severe assault, multiple thefts, aggression and racist abuse. In today’s episode the man returned multiple times and threatened violence and that “he’d be back”. Police were called, they did not attend.

Say hello to the new king of the road.

Electric trucks are smashing 500–600 km routes fully loaded. Faster. Cheaper. Relentless.

Diesel kings? Not evolving. Being hunted to extinction.

Charging will scale. Cost curves already flipped.

Same road. Same load. Different outcome. #Bettrification

At first I thought €90billion would be a difficult loan to pay back.
However, it is only €2000 per capita.
Over 10 years, that is €200 per capita per year.
This would be €4 per person per week.
The export potential of Ukraine will be huge after the war.
So this size of loan is not unsustainable!

The world needs more benches (and toilets, and bins! And general provision of visible public amenity as a principle.)

The recent climate-deniers' conference in DC took place just a mile away from thousands of cherry trees quietly exposing their lies

Labor nor Liberal / National will not take a stand for Australians

they'll protect vested interests and political lobbying (whether it's by industry or foreign powers)

Totally fucked up. One inquiry from the Australian and you’re pulped.

ALP too scared to take on the gas industry that strips billions from our country each year; but not shy about kicking the crutches out from under hundreds of thousands of disabled Australians. So gutsy Albo.

Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you Labor’s biggest coward, & absolute traitor to the party’s ethos,
@albomp.bsky.social

“Labor” backbench & branches complicit in their silence

NOBODY claiming to be even slightly on the left can vote for “Labor”

Talking ourselves into inequality: the new fuel ads, the NDIS and "social cohesion" show how neoliberalism has colonised our tongues Under the pressure of decades of right wing culture wars—which have run parallel to cross party support for neoliberalism—the traditional vocabulary of welfare, redistribution, egalitarianism, and cla...

“Instead of reclaiming welfare as a positive expression of egalitarian solidarity, we flee from it, leaving those whose payments cannot easily be rebranded—people on JobSeeker, parenting payment or public housing—stranded in the category of the undeserving.”

What a meek, captured, and industry-owned ‘leader’ Albo is. His government would rather hand hundreds of billions to multinationals and the U.S. and at the same time remove support for people living with disabilities. Truly shameful. Albo is John Howard 2.0.
