Blazers owner Tom Dundon doesn’t care that others say he’s cheap (Gift Article) When it comes to everything outside the locker room, the Blazers will be cheap. And they won't follow the widely accepted norms of the NBA.

Checking in on the Blazers’ new owner: “I know he doesn’t love Oregon, and is concerned that it is a state that can’t draw free agents. Well, with all due respect, you’re not helping the cause of drawing free agents when you treat everyone like s— there.”

He's supposed to be a cheerleader for Portland, but this line just sounds like PBA/Portland Metro garbage talk

Oh yes — superfluous status horses are in the same category as private jets and more cars than drivers and more rooms than people

I guess since birds aren’t real, it totally makes sense for a shoe company to be bought by private equity, gutted, and then expand into the other fake world of AI.

The federal government refuses to offer purchase subsidies for e-bikes, the LEAST they could do would be to remove GST from bicycles purchases for the season and encourage people to leave the car at home. #yycbike

Oh I love this whole thread but not this. All the horse owners I know (here out West) are ‘ordinary folk’ who make lifestyle choices to have their horses. Just like I do to have my dog.

I voted no today on an ordinance that authorizes $525 million in water bonds. This issuance is part of a broader debt management strategy to finance the water filtration plant. I’d like to share my reason for that no vote.

Yes. In this particular case I watched someone using a wheelchair find out the s elevator was closed after taking the n elevator, wheeling across the bridge, to be forced to turn around.

It's just So Wrong.

And I bet there are still no signs a block away letting you know you should detour BEFORE getting to the south elevator. Because it's NBD to turn around in a wheelchair and figure out something else.

It must be horrible to reroute in a car because there's so much signage when a road is closed.

What's amazing is this is an OLD idea. In various circles in multiple cities I've had the convo about closing a major street once a week/month to motor vehicles for running/biking/playing.

The entrenched status quo is amazing.

Opinion | Why Is No Kings So Old?

Edsall has apparently forgotten that there were big student protests about Gaza only two years ago, and what happened to those kids. No Kings protests are old because they are boringly organized by Democratic party congressional aides. But what, exactly, should students be in the streets demanding?

Add that to nearly every recent STEM grad (parent of an underemployed 23 year old BioChem major over here)

I’ve been listening to @opb.org and @npr.org for the past 45 minutes and there has been zero mention of the crazed Jesus image Trump posted yesterday. And this is when I get mad at ‘the media’. Because the president is not sane and that IS news.

I feel like yes, Vance is scary horrible, but even so our President is not sane and so who would replace him doesn't outweigh that.

Dang. To get to PDX with enough leeway for a 10:30 am weekend flight means I'd need to leave my house at 7:30. From inner SE Portland.
