A meme showing Ginger from Gilligan's Island holding a tube of lipstick. The text says: What am I doing for Easter? Same as Jesus. Going out Friday and coming back Monday.

Today a guy cheerfully greeted us as my boyfriend and I were putting three bottles of ketchup into our shopping cart and I suspect it was an autism "game recognize game" situation.

A close up of a hand holding a lemon covered in drab green mold with one circle of white and blue-green mold. It is barely recognizable as a lemon. The produce sticker is resting atop the lumpy surface.

Guys, I think I figured out where that rotten citrus smell was coming from!

I'm so excited that my temples are finally going grey! Seriously, I love silver hair and I am ready! I know, it's only a few wispies, but there will be more.
Also wearing a wig is such torture but I'm deeply committed to my costumes.

A group of six nature valentines. A picture of a bog with pitcher plants, with text saying "Our love is like a bog. Built up over time, resistant to decay, deeply interesting to just a small number of people." A yellow slime mold stretching out and exploring. "our love is like a slime mold. Collaborative, complex, at times unnerving to behold." A piece of limestone with a small trilobite in the corner. "Our love is like limestone. Layered, useful for many purposes, shaped by the friends we met along the way." A ring-billed gull with a french fry on a beach. "Our love is like a ring-billed gull. Abundant, found in North America, sometimes sustained by french fries." An Atlantic horseshoe crab walking on the sand. "Our love is like a horseshoe crab. Tough, timeless, unrelated to true crabs." A drawing of the phosphorus cycle, with arrows connecting various parts of a scene, including algae and fish and a farm and a river and a forest. "Our love is like the phosphorus cycle. Important, really hard to draw."

Please help; I watched the Twilight movie and wondered if the book could possibly be as terrible and now I have strong feelings about Twilight.

A black and white print that shows a cross section of soil with a potato plant growing in it. The text reads "They tried to bury me. They didn't know I was a potato."

Discworld QOTD, from Small Gods

β€œFear is a strange soil. It grows obedience like corn, which grow in straight lines to make weeding easier. But sometimes it grows the potatoes of defiance, which flourish underground.”

β€œWhy is Elon’s coup not on the front page of the New York Times???”

idk, probably because the NYT is a puzzle game app that happens to also release articles about how trans people aren’t real but are also somehow a menace. It’s like asking why there isn’t a sonnet printed on your toilet paper

So far feral self care is resonating, and Burnout the book, not the workbook, is AMAZING. Workbooks like journals are challenging for me for brain reasons.

Rit has gotten better but our lovely local art store Art Coop also sells a good dye that can dye synthetic fabrics! A revelation.
Also, I'm part of the local goth group! Every last Thursday at Rose Bowl and we have a special event Feb 15!

It's pretty good in Champaign Urbana. We have a very queer independent media center, a few gay or very queer friendly bars, lots of drag nights and story hours, and we have Pride in September so all the schools can participate (and seemingly every church in town.) We gay in the fields. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸŒ½

A magazine ad for butter from the 50s with the headline "America's Youth Need't Suffer From Lack of Butter!" accompanied by a painting that is, I swear to god, of a nude boy shown from behind, standing on a scale to be weighed. What does this have to do with butter, I couldn't tell you
