Tax Day is here, and the staff at CT Voices are proud to pay our taxes.

Taxes are how we build schools, fund health care, keep families housed, and invest in the future of every child in Connecticut. That's what a government that works for its people does.

CT legislative committee OKs capital gains tax on millionaires This change, which would begin in 2027 and generate about $260 million per year, is likely to draw strong opposition from Lamont, a wealthy Greenwich businessman.

The math isn't mathing in this year's #CT budget adjustment. This policy would help pay for the things legislators, advocates, and the governor want.

The biggest April Fools' trick? Convincing us that a fair budget & #PoliciesForThePeople are out of reach. They're not.

#CT has the resources. What we need now is the courage to take action.

Funds for signature pre-K endowment in peril as surplus dwindles CT's Early Childhood Education Endowment is projected to receive less than a tenth of what lawmakers pledged last June.

#CT promised hundreds of millions for early childhood, but only ~$30M is projected this cycle.

Early childhood is essential infrastructure.

The need is real. The funding must be too.

#CT's children deserve the chance to grow up healthy, educated, and economically secure. Cuts to Medicaid (also known as HUSKY in CT) aren't just a healthcare issue, they're also an economic and equity issue.

HR 1 is leaving #CT w/ a $1 billion hole, and our kids & families will feel it most.

We can recover some of that money by closing a loophole that was never fair to begin with. This means no new taxes on hardworking families. We have a plan!

The Supreme Court overturned the Trump Administration’s original slate of tariffs. Now, large corporations are lining up to ask the federal government for "refunds."

But let’s get one thing straight: Corporations didn't pay the price. You did.
