Agreed. I believe teaching language arts not for, you know, the good of humanity and growing as people, but instead so someone can pass a test is also a factor.
Reading and writing isn’t positioned as something that is enjoyable and worthwhile, but a chore that is to be games.
Also the change, apparently last year, about the number of spaces needed in a cite may actually kill me. WHY.
After years of marketing ebooks and being chronically online, doing legal work has reminded me that paper has its purpose, as I have an actual copy of the Blue Book next to me, and I realized I should probably print out and highlight a trial transcript. Sorry trees.
I cannot emphasize enough how important judicial races are.
this would be funny if it’s an SNL skit but alas he can obliterate the planet
Keep posting, patriots!

A screenshot of Microsoft Word with its AI asking "What would you like to create today?"
NO WORD NO I DO NOT
Yeah, this is one of those “two things can be true at the same time” situations: transphobia is wrong but he’s allowed to have opinions we disagree with.
The cop who sued me (also in Ohio) included in his complaint that he was called a “limp dicked piece of shit” by a codefendant. I assure you that got mentioned in court several times and had the case not been dismissed, the team would have delighted in that line of questioning.
tired: Congress needs to condition appropriations to the federal judiciary on establishing free PACER access
wired: Congress needs to condition appropriations to STATE COURTS on establishing free access to case searches and document retrieval
I couldn’t either. Had to actually pay attention today. THE NERVE.
I have a feeling the guy who said he didn’t know is his wife was cheating on him or not is going to add one to the list real soon.
There are loooooots of cop ex wives to go around.
If it were reality TV, we’d see it on Housewives and Survivor too.
Nope. Just the Gothard show.
(but it should have been high)
He did countersue, but those claims were dismissed earlier in litigation.
And after 6 hours of deliberations, Afroman wins. Everyone have some lemon pound cake to celebrate.
He should go for sanctions. Seriously, this was frivolous. And there is precedent, after all.
Afroman prevailed: verdict for the defense!
Making a lemon pound cake this weekend in his honor.

Here are the alleged defamatory statements in the #Afroman case.
Many, if not most, are clearly opinion. Police are also public figures under Ohio law.
It is also perfectly legal to call a cop a white supremacist in Ohio. See: Olthaus v. Niesen, 2023-Ohio-4710, 232 N.E.3d 932 (Ct. App.)
I am very creeped out at how much that looks like even more wrong Zuck. 😭
and here I swear I'm not gonna duel in a couple months and THIS GUY...
That would be my argument. They are certainly public figures under Ohio law.
I sincerely do not understand how the Afroman case got past a motion to dismiss. I guess maybe the likeness issue? But for example: this guy is mad he was called a “dipshit” (opinion) and that he was accused of having a receding hairline.

I’m just so put out by them calling it Learned Hand.
Hey gotta start somewhere.
