Somalia has confirmed its strong rejection of Israel’s decision to appoint a diplomatic mission in the Somaliland region, describing the move as a clear violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The cyberattack on The British Library in October 2023 knocked out ebooks and almost ever other computer thing there for years.

Ebooks just came back. They were knocked out everywhere using the BL’s license (legal deposit libraries I think? More libraries?)

Distributed physical copies matter.

Australian officialdom continues to cavort around shamelessly saying nerny nerny ner instead of doing the right thing when it comes to Aboriginal people. It capers away, shameful & brains-bereft, mistaking cruelty & disrespect for efficiency.

B and W photo. A young woman, Myrtle Roberts, with dark hair, strong features and early 1930s style dark lippy and rouge, sitting on a photographic studio prop at Luna Park - a stylised early 20th Century smiling crescent moon in front of a back-drop with scattered stars. Her feet are dangling above the floor. One lock of slicked hair is carefully arranged over her right eye on her pale forehead. Myrtle is wearing (I'm guessing) a light coloured shot-silk or satin leisure-wear suit with wrap-style tunic top, puffed short sleeves and gathered at the ankles clown-style, and a couple of Nellie Stewart bangles are visible on her right arm. One hand is steading the prop seat and the other is touching her necklace.

Here's the eccentric dancer & magician Myrtle Roberts very early in her career at Luna Park, Melbourne. More details and a performance pic of her in a costume merkin with some doves will appear in my next book. Photo courtesy Pete Smith via Performing Arts Collection, Arts Centre Melbourne.

Also, can media stop saying that a man 'vehemently' or 'strenuously' denies an 'accusation' - unless it's also accompanied by equal-weight wording that a woman has 'steadfastly' or 'bravely' made a 'report'?

Good morning!
This tiny “snow fairy” is actually one of the most magical little birds on the planet - the long-tailed tit!

In winter, they puff up so much they look like floating snowballs with wings. Photography by @y.odamon

Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:

- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal

"Being a known or best-selling author in Australia means you must be rich". (Authors make about 10-12% of each sold book's cover price and that's IT unless Hollywood buys the rights which is ... uncommon).

Tomorrow the Press Club platforms Israeli Ambassador Hillel Newman who questioned whether 165 people killed in an Iranian school strike were actually there.

It's not even listed on their website.

Many who've long argued Australian media is biased will see this as proof.

JUST NOW:
"Pine Gap is being used in Iran-US War" the intro headlines for The World Today on ABC Local Radio said just now.

Some called me a liar when I said that weeks ago. Now the ABC is reporting that what I reported is true, three weeks after I said it.

No shit, Sherlock.

Do not pander. Do not dumb down. Trust your audience to be smarter than you. Trust them to be curious. Don’t erase your own voice for spurious bowing down to factors that bring nothing to the stories you need to tell. #Writing
