After one year, the Luxembourg Armed Forces’ mission in Kosovo was successfully accomplished.
Our Armed Forces, as part of the NATO Kosovo Force #KFOR, led a Benelux drone detachment. Today, the last Luxembourgish soldiers returned home from Kosovo.

Luxembourg Defence is providing satellite communications for the RQ-4D Phoenix and the Allied ISR Forces.
At the Sigonella Air Base in Sicily, Minister @yurikobackes.bsky.social visited the aerial assets for maritime surveillance that Luxembourg Defence is contributing to EUNAVFOR MED IRINI. An essential contribution for the EU Operation to fulfil its tasks.
In Rome, at the EUNAVFOR MED IRINI Mission Headquarters, Minister @yurikobackes.bsky.social met with Operation Commander Rear Admiral Casapieri. Since 2020, IRINI implements the United Nations arms embargo on Libya & enhances EU maritime situational awareness in the Mediterranean.
Repatriation operations by Belgium & Luxembourg continue.
Our binational A400M Unit is currently in the Middle East to bring 134 people, from Luxembourg, Belgium, France and the Netherlands, back to safety from Dubai to Hurghada, & from there with a charter flight to Brussels.
Yesterday evening, a repatriation flight from the Luxembourg Defence with a military aircraft #MRTT successfully landed in Luxembourg w/136 passengers: 🇱🇺 20, 🇧🇪 18, 🇫🇷 48, 🇩🇪 3, 🇳🇱 2 & other nationalities. I visited LUXUAV, a Luxembourg headquartered company specialised in the development of cutting-edge Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles. LUXUAV is developing an AI-native UAV ecosystem on different altitudes.
