Hue Shift A chaotic colour-matching game. Drag to shift hue and lightness to match the target. 10 rounds. The clock is ticking.

“AI is destroying my humanity.” @mitchellh.com (HashiCorp; Ghostty, Vouch). From a conversation @helen.blog and I had with him.

Not an anti-AI take. A maintainer capacity take. Creation got cheaper. Review didn’t.

12 Days of Tiny but Mighty Wins

It's been a whirlwind year, including that @github.com put me back on fixing papercuts/"tiny wins" for OSS maintainers! In 5 months a team of just 2 engs plus me and another proper PM shipped 15 things, so I made a little app to celebrate 12 of them 💖 helen.github.io/12-days-of-t...

AI Agents: What this old-head OSS maintainer is thinking about - Helen Hou-Sandí Note: this is a lightly edited version of an internal work post I wrote in April 2025 before Copilot Coding Agent was released to the public. I’ve been playing with Copilot Coding Agent a bit lately, ...

Writing this also reminded me that I meant to cross-post something I had written internally at work once the thing I was talking about was public! helen.blog/2025/09/ai-a...

Had to wait a couple minutes to get into an airport lounge and the man behind me went on and on about “being treated like second class citizens with Priority Pass” and is now asking his companion if she preferred this line or the one at the Vatican ?????????

I think my favorite thing outside of the concert was getting successfully heckled by a guy with a mic on a rooftop in La Perla, wandering over to discover it was a tiny bar, and having amazing pitorro de coco and just the best real people vibes

The first thing I want to attempt to return to Being Online with is: we went to the Bad Bunny residency in PR and it was beautiful and perfect and a gorgeous celebration of culture and I met my goal of sticking to Spanish a little too well because everybody went right into 90% speed puertorriqueño 😵‍💫
