ALA is disappointed that the House Committee on Education & Workforce moved forward dangerous federal book banning legislation yesterday. HR 7661 contains vague, confusing, and overly broad language, inviting government censorship.

I know you get a lot of "call your representatives" requests, but this is a big one.
Not only does this violate the understanding in the U.S. that library decisions rest at the local level, but it specifically targets books by, about, and for trans people.
That's discrimination, plain and simple.
