I raised the question about what you do when cannabis is legal (VA) re: underage violation because I think people have been historically over punished for cannabis usage & I was just stating the data regarding the experience in Florida with alcohol. I think these questions deserve serious debate.

I understand the military argument, but Florida lowered the drinking age to 18 in 1973. After 7 years of increased auto fatalities among 18-20 year olds (+7-10%), the state raised the age back to 21 and experienced an average 13% reduction in fatal crash involvement among affected young drivers.

Shouldn’t punishment for marijuana use by minors in VA, a state where it’s legal for 21+, be the same for both alcohol and marijuana? I don’t know what the laws are regarding alcohol, but I don’t see much difference in the two when it comes to illegal use or intoxication (which are not the same.)

My 5-yo grandson picked out a perfect Xmas gift for me this year: It’s a pocket tool set w/light. He told his mama I needed it because I always fix things! I’ve also sent my other grandson to summer cooking camp! Not raising any boys who are domestically clueless or girls who can’t mow the grass!

And now we’re hearing that military leaders are excluding him from strategy meetings. With his buddy Flynn heading up the Joint Chiefs, everyone must be worried. Isn’t it time that Congress stepped in to remove him? Everyone knows he’s a danger to the country. Where is their courage?

I think it was an assassination attempt that missed the target and the blood on Trump’s face was blowback from the man behind him who got hit. The blowback at 150 yards is not dramatic but it’s enough to have splattered a few feet. I think the Trump people seized on the opportunity.

We have zero tolerance policies for first graders: Hit another student and you’re in the principal’s office waiting for your parents. What a mixed message we send!
