The bill passed out of the Assembly Committee on Privacy and Consumer Protection yesterday with a unanimous 14-0 vote and now heads to the Assembly Health Committee next week!

I had a wonderful start to my week welcoming some of our incredible interns to the State Capitol. As they continue serving constituents from our District Offices, I was delighted to give them a look at our work in Sacramento and introduce them to my legislative colleagues.
Last week, I was proud to stand alongside Assemblymember Ramos as he spoke about his AB 1841, which would designate Native American Day, the 4th Friday in September, as a paid holiday for all state employees.
The health of our environment directly impacts our personal health, and I’m grateful to CCLT for their partnership and work to conserve open space.
I share this recognition with my legislative director, Charmaine Mills, for the support she’s provided in getting our AB 679 signed into law – expediting approval for property acquired for Big Basin Redwoods, Año Nuevo, and Butano State Parks to support recovery after the CZU Complex Lightning Fire.
I had the profound honor of being named a 2026 Legislative Champion by the CA Council of Land Trusts (CCLT) last Monday.

Lindsay Speth is a committed leader in wildfire resiliency throughout the San Lorenzo Valley. She serves on the Board of the Fire Safe Council of Santa Cruz County and leads a Firewise community in Ben Lomond.
