Now published! Our mixed-methods paper examining disclosure, campus experiences, and campus climate for LGBTQ+ students in the Southeastern U.S. In it, we find disclosure/outness complex, racialized, and gendered in its associations with campus experiences. doi.org/10.1353/csd....

I’m not sure about Virginia tech. But at least at VCU we still have the Board policy barring certain practices and labels. And board appointments substantially lag election results, but perhaps boards will withdraw those policies.

Great piece! Educational Psychologist has published some good critical work the last few years, and @wcastillophd.bsky.social is great as always.

For the journal, we were able to build an algorithm to check DOIs and see if they return matching titles.

The ethical guidelines from COPE have flexibility on institutional reporting and we’re supposed to consider severity and intent. The case my journal had recently we decided against institutional reporting but I’m open to being convinced I was wrong.

That’s what I always understood. That you can’t take adverse action prior to a finding of wrongdoing. But I don’t know all of those procedures and hope to never have to learn them in depth.

An interesting question. In previous Title IX complaints I’ve known about, either from students or as someone interviewed as a witness, the instructor alleged to have committed misconduct was not suspended. Not at OU but two other institutions with some things in common.

Interesting - I'd seen RCM models as being not great for schools of education in general with some features that are maybe not great for collaboration, too. Curious about why other models are signs of budget problems (as a definite non-expert in higher ed finance)

For all the hand wringing on the left about trans rights being difficult for democrat candidates, last night should be a lesson. The rep VA governor candidate ran on an anti trans platform (with constant and vile TV and radio ads) and lost in a landslide.

The thing giving my anxiety is I truly don’t know how our institution would handle it if asked. I think it’s probably a tough decision for any. But tough decision and enthusiastic excitement are different.

Generator for alternative image text seems good. I’d like to turn off the rest (because asking to burn it in the fires of hell seems like a reach at this point).

My tip as an editor for reviewers: If I've asked you to review a revision, all I really want is to know if you feel your prior comments have been addressed. You likely don't need a second extremely close read. This is also not the moment to raise new issues (unless the revision introduced them).

Three international students we admitted declined and two of them aren’t coming to any US institution. For context, that means we have zero new international students in my program.
