Despite mayor’s assurances, more people than ever are homeless in Portland Mayor Keith Wilson and others have said homelessness may be decreasing in Portland, despite Multnomah County data showing the opposite.

It took the state/county/surrounding counties/city/business community/voters, etc. 150+ years to build a solid infrastructure of predictable permanent homelessness for 5000+ people.

It's not going to get solved in a year by one man. Stop griping & get to work.

Opinion: Alaska’s mistreatment of people with a mental illness is not new Alaska law still allows patient rights to be sidelined in the name of cheaper psychiatric care.

For over a century, Alaska residents with a mental illness were sent to locked psychiatric facilities in Portland - Morningside Hospital - that made the lowest bid to provide care.

It's a John Barrymore week here, tonight with DINNER AT EIGHT by George Cukor in 1933. Barrymore by this time was both insane with alcoholism AND the greatest actor in the world. Barrymore knew it, the crew and actors knew it, the media knew it, the audience knew it. And he was terrific.

Behind Portland’s homelessness data, a familiar political fight emerges Mayor Keith Wilson says estimates of homelessness increasing in Portland don’t match his reality.

We've been measuring homelessness to see which government is going to pay for it for 40+ years and still don't have convincing data.
