We live in a world broken by design: a web of systems that debilitate & destroy through racist and ableist infrastructural neglect, socioeconomic abandonment & ecological negligence.

I have spent the last hour sending choice snippets of this gem to the group chat.
Somewhat beside the point, but what would it look like for a Pope to be "strong" on nuclear weapons, exactly?
bring back shame
Humbly calling on Pope Leo to make JD Vance’s no good, horrible, very bad week even worse.
I’m just thrilled it’s not Michigan, for once
Wasn’t Mnookin hired in 2022? anyway, I’m more shocked Wisconsin has 25 campuses
25 campuses for 400k?! In this economy?! Absolutely not.
How does the chancellor of the flagship make more than the president? They’re all ridiculous amounts, but still
A soupçon of war, if you will
The event will be in person (Michigan Union 2210 ABC) and livestreamed (assuming zoom and sessions behave this time) and the link can be accessed via registration below. CART services will also be provided. Please share widely!
In this talk, Prof. Kim will discuss her new book, Care at the End of the World (Duke UP), which demonstrates why we need radical disability politics and aesthetics for navigating contemporary crises of care. She will also debut some new work on the politics and poetics of crip-of-color friendship.

Trying to convince her that the the initial design (which *was* pretty hideous) is almost surely not going to be what actually gets built is impossible.
I'm guessing this is the group my mom is a part of, and having had *many* fights with her about this, the degree of magical thinking and avoidance of facts would be impressive if the consequences weren't so infuriating. It's also a spectacular waste of time and energy.
God grant me the confidence of the white men in the replies arguing about tribal sovereignty with *Maggie Blackhawk*
I am watching a student rolling along on a Onewheel hoverboard while also holding a conversation with a friend (walking alongside). This is a level of balance I cannot fathom.

Many a man has debased their scholarly reputation by attempting violence against the annals of history, profiting nothing but the praise of Samuel Alito and the prospect of a fleeting mention by the Solicitor General at the Supreme Court.
The last time I was at my parents' in SF, I found an unopened pack of post-its advertising the 1988 Calgary Olympics. Until very recently, they still had drawstring plastic gap bags with the old lower-case logo in their plastic bag collection. Solidarity.
In case you can’t tell, I am just exhausted by all this EO nonsense being taken seriously and thus ending up being serious.
We need a new Schoolhouse Rock about “I’m just an EO.”

If you heard irate squawking coming from the 7th floor of Haven, my apologies, but between the head pats, the forcible hand (finger?) shakes, the insistence that people with Down syndrome are lessons in wonder and gratitude, and the comment about "readjusting my attitude," I truly have no words.
It is hardly the most important thing atm, but shout out to Shrinking (and Brett Goldstein and Harrison Ford) for sensitively and accurately portraying the physical and cognitive effects of Parkinson’s. My dad was diagnosed last year and won’t stop talking about the show
